  1. What is the situation with pga tour interest in dpwt? I see this (below) does it prevent a PIF/dpwt deal without pga tour approval? At least til 2036?
  2. “I continue to contend that talking about economics related to LIV is meaningless, as they don’t care about the economics of their league. I’d say the same about strategy,” You do know this is the “LIV Tour discussion thread”? 🤣 🍻
  3. We just started season two, it kicks it up on a few levels, some characters 🤣
  4. Yo, you ever seen the Fargo tv 📺 show? We just started watching it, it’s dope! But there’s this drum number that comes in when these 2 funny hit men named “Wrench & Numbers” come on, I think it’s pretty cool…Jeff Russo is the drummer These guys 🤣
  5. 🤣 this reminds me of something my Father (RIP) would do in his Subaru!
  6. Ya LIV/PIF have learned that their original plan ain’t gonna happen. But, they are smart to let the market dictate where to pivot Overseas, more of a novelty exhibition league that brings golf around the world. It’s nowhere near the elite league they wanted initially, but it has some success for what it is.
  7. Ohhh I thought you meant all of twitter!🤣 Sorry mods, I didn’t know!
  8. Think I gonna wait for HG3
  9. Ha! Reminded me these things, who knows what the “cheese” was made of but they were good!
  10. Ya that’s the catch-22 for him. Hus game is so good it’s boring. But the other aspect of “exciting” golf is when a guy becomes “da man” and the expectations are sky high and they deliver big time Thats what TW did. And once he was the top dog it wasn’t just the exciting/recovery shots he hit, people got psyched to see him just put the hammer down and win Personally, SS gets more intriguing to watch now since he’s the undisputed best and everybody wants to beat him. If he has another big year, especially majors, I think there will be a lot more hype and then it keeps multiplying as the stakes go up.
  11. Huge SA companies on the list. No shortage of sources of revenue for them. As to the return on these investments/sponsorships for the sponsoring companies vis a vis the pga tour and its sponsors, hard to say https://www.livgolf.com/partners
  12. “But if LIV were what is was designed to be,” No sport has every season game trying to be the Super Bowl. You have big games and mostly just good games. The top players obviously don’t believe in the LIV model or it wouldn’t take 100s of millions to get them to leave. All LIV has done is made a few guys rich and taken them off the pga tour and then… nobody watched them. Can Smith is a perfect example of why the liv model doesn’t work for golf. Great for his wallet though lol
  13. They just need guys. I doubt BD Rahm BK Hatton or any of their better players are going to leave so they just need to fill the ranks. Doesn’t seem like they have any concern or notions that they are going to get great rating anytime soon if ever. But given they signed up a new venue and I read, they are increasing the purses by 5 million for each event, it seems they are content to keep staging these events long-term
  14. Ya reminded me…I grew up in a “swell” town in the NY burbs, around 3,000 people, sorta preppy type place So, the people who live across the street from my buddy down the block move out, we didn’t know if they sold or what, the house sat empty for a bit then one day we at his house and we see this big black Cadillac parked in the driveway of the house. Few days later we see this big dude in a suit like wiping the car down and the guy is strapped! Got a piece on his belt, lol, not exactly a common thing in my hood So, we like “cool”! We 13 years old, go outside like, “Hi, are you the new neighbors?” Guy was nice says hi, he’s like no, I’m the driver 🤔 Then a day or two later we in front and see this other guy on the side lawn of the house, looks like a young mobster, dressed in like designer jeans and a silk shirt, hair slicked back, but what’s interesting is hes got these two big Dobermans with him! He’s got a steak and he’s trying to teach them not to eat it til he commands them 🤣 We like, “cool”! So we say hi, he was nice, talked a bit. We didn’t see him much but on the 4th of July he was blowing up all these M-80s! Then a few months later he was gone. Musta been witness protection or something lol
  15. I think LIV golf is “here to stay” The have Aramco and a few other big SA companies as sponsors so the money is perpetually available. I do think they will try to keep the current operating expenses in check. The big question is if and who is out there that it’s even worth big money to sign. Do they offer 100MM+ to guys like Hovland and Åberg? Even if they don’t their purses are big enough that they should be able to attract top 50 players, especially Euro/Aus/Asia based players.
  16. could be he’s just continued to put in the same amount of work he did as when he was on the PGA tour. it’s possible that the guys who got the huge sign-on just didn’t see any need to do all that work week to week anymore but it’s just a tad doubtful that he would have four wins on the PGA Tour this year 🤣
