  1. It is awesome. +1/N, and I have now moved the heavier weight to the back for a bit more forgiveness. 9g back, 7g front, around D3 SW. Playing mine at 42.75" (- 0.5"). Forgiving and long, great off the tee, and solid off the deck.
  2. Callaway apparently does not know that they make this in LH, but they do. A few of us have grabbed it. Easiest way is Scheels.com, but another WRXer found his in stock at Golf Galaxy. Good luck—it is a great driver.
  3. I play the Elyte TD Max in 9* at +1/N, and it launches in a terrific window for me. I don't have numbers, only on-course performance. But it is straight and long, and rarely an issue with too low of a launch. I gather that the higher spin on the Elyte TD Max is the primary reason that I prefer the heavier weight in the front rather than the back. There is still plenty of forgiveness with the lighter weight in the back. Though I do go 9g/7g for a balanced performance, rather than say 14g/2g in either direction. YMMV.
  4. Being a completist, I tried the HL as well! Liked them, but didn’t love them. They are a longer blade length compared to the core and X. The X are the thickest of the bunch. Turf interaction for me is much better with the core compared to the HL. I have decided to combo the X with the core for the time being, as the X 6 and 7 irons have been really good their first couple of rounds (but I still prefer the more compact core in 8-A). YMMV.

    G440 irons

That is a nice endorsement. Good to see Ping making some improvements. I liked my G410s a lot several years ago, and really did not like my G425s. Went away from Ping after that, but would love to give the G440s a try.
  6. I have played mine both ways, and honestly prefer a heavier weight in the front. But I go 9g/7g for D2-D3 swing weight, rather than say 14g/2g which would have a more pronounced effect on spin, etc. The balanced approach works for me, and this head is still extremely forgiving. The bottom line is, depending on what overall weight you want/need to match a desired swing weight, there is a ton of flexibility with how and where you place the weights in the TD Max, and it does have an effect on its performance. Once you dial it in though, it is really a darn good driver. I hit some monster drives yesterday, well past my playing partners, and I am no spring chicken…
  7. Congrats. Had another two good rounds this weekend with the driver. Love this thing.
  8. Nice write-up. The core Elyte are truly a great balance of forgiveness, feel and performance. I am actually trying out some Elyte X irons with the same Axiom shafts, and I think I prefer the core Elyte. I might end up doing a combo set with Elyte X in 6 and 7 irons, but the core Elyte look better, feel better, carve through the rough better, and don’t give up much in forgiveness.
  9. Gotta give him some credit—he is so darn good in these Opens. But it is not quite the best thing for excitement at the Open in general (although this seems like it could be a crowded field—hopefully…).
  10. The entire thing doesn’t make sense. Like how does Callaway still not even acknowledge making this head in LH…? Anyway, they do, and Scheels seems to be one of the few stores that has plenty of them. Living in the Mid-Atlantic, I had never heard of Scheels, but like I said, all went well with the order. The stock Tensei shaft is a good shaft, but it wasn’t ideal for me. I tried out a bunch of my Callaway shafts with the TD Max, and the MMT 60 S stood out for me. Like I said, it has been a very good driver. Forgiving and long. Play around with the weights—I am currently at 10g front and 7g back, but I have tried different combinations, different weights, etc. It can make a big difference.
  11. Never really saw the LH version around, but I ordered mine from Scheels based on a tip from another WRXer. They delivered, and it has been an awesome driver for me. https://www.scheels.com/p/19719367598/?queryID=a0d3360faeb1c104cf0c43e0c156599d
  12. Yep, I'd still need to give the forgiveness nod to the Max 10K, such as it is. But pound-for-pound, when I step up to the tee box with the Elyte TD Max, I am generally in better position more consistently than I was with the 10K, in terms of dispersion and distance. I think the ability to dial in the spin characteristics with the TD Max might tip the scale in its favor, as changing out the weights does make a pretty big difference (in my case, moving the heavier weight to the front, but not like 14g/2g that might come stock, but rather 9g/7g give or take). A nicely balanced driver for both lowish spin and still very forgiving. Again, YMMV.
  13. I went from a G430 Max 10K that I loved (and still have) to an Elyte TD Max, and actually prefer the TD Max. The G440 is reportedly similar to the Max 10K, so you can extrapolate from that. Of course, these are all awesome drivers and you cannot really go wrong. But I am generally in more fairways with the TD Max than I was with the Max 10K. YMMV.
  14. +1. Mine came to life when I moved the heavier weight to the front—I think 9g/6g in my case for D2-D3 SW. Similar setup to my TD Max driver with the weights and +1/N. The Ti 3 wood has been so good.
  15. Axiom 105 S soft-stepped once. I’ve just about played ‘em all, and not sure I’ll play another shaft from here on out. Love everything about them. Just used my Callaway credit on a set of Elyte X irons with the same shafts, so I’ll be able to compare pretty much apples to apples. The core Elyte are outstanding, but looking forward to perhaps a bit more forgiveness from the X. I’ll hopefully have the X set in hand for some golf next week or weekend, so we shall see.
