Definitely. Tried so many shafts over my golf life. Ventus TR Black is by far the best fit. TR Blue and Diamana WB tipped are also great but less stable. The only sell for another shaft at this point is same weight and more stability.
-
Looks like it's made to perfectly match Honma sets lol. Fujikura has created the Pro V1 of the woods shaft market in Ventus. Just completely dominant. We'll see if they can keep the relentless small improvements to stay on top.

Stock for the extra bounce.

Interesting shape. I think the new Tour-only Scotties have that arrow frame shape. LAB wasn't the first zero torque but they have changed the putting game forever. Cheers.

Less forgiving than ZX7 or T150, probably similar forgiveness to T100. I got a split set when I was injured. Now that I'm healthier, the shafts aren't the best fit. I have SteelFiber i80s in them, about to swap in Axiom 105s in the Blueprint T P and 9 and Axiom 95s in the Blueprint S 8 - 6. I really got the T's for the thinner sole for chipping, not for any advantage with a full shot. You're right, don't see many sets in the wild. I think partly because they're priced a bit more than the competition and Ping doesn't do many deals. Also because Ping has not historically been a forged iron company. But they are winning on tour just as much as any other player's iron so the performance is definitely there. But test and bag the ones that perform the best, not the prettiest.

Cobra Max-K or Ping 10K, maybe Ping G440 SFT if you fight a fade. Modern drivers are better in every performance category, honestly.

Moved from Mizuno JPX 921 Forged to the Maltby TS4s

I have TS3 in long irons for my back-up set. They are extremely easy to play, almost super game improvement levels of forgiveness in a one-piece forged iron. TS4 looks like a more playable P7TW which is an amazing idea. -
New Ping i240 irons - 2025 Memorial
is1ander replied to GolfWRX_Spotted's topic in Tour and Pre-Release Equipment
Got the 5 iron and it is sweet. Carbon looks quality and understated, topline is tidy/not too thick, sole is on the thinner side of average, pretty flat with relief front and back. The sole looks like Blueprint T and T150 had a baby, same or maybe a bit thinner than MP 243 or T150 from I remember. Feel is very smooth with some pop, deeper/more solid than i230 IMO. Very forgiving, generous but not offensive offset (5 iron only, I plead the 5th on all other i240 irons) and very workable on a range mat. My normal shot is a mid-high baby fade, high baby draws with the i240 all day which is not a bad thing with a long iron. I was also able to hit power draws and mid-flight mid fades. Was not able to hit low fades which suggests the CG is very low. My miss is a thin miss so I don't mind. But we'll see what happens when I need a knockdown to escape trees, hah. Overall, I see no weakness in i240. Pros are playing it so there is no ceiling. I think an aspiring 25 hcp with a coach and a plan could play these and have a ton of fun. -
I just watched the new Kick Point YouTube conversation at the Kingdom with Scottie's club builder. Fascinating stuff. It really is all about the feel. Everything is blueprinted for his clubs. Everything.

Maybe LAB encourages the TPT with pros as the tolerances are pretty tight? But when pros are winning majors with 70g Stroke Lab shafts, admittedly in standard lengths, I think the 140g Accra Sweeper shaft is plenty stable. 140g is super heavy wedge shaft territory. I wonder how it would play, lol.
-
Nice. I can play irons anywhere from stock to +2", D2 to E2. I think the brain and body adjust naturally. We see pros often hit amazing shots gripping down almost below the grip. I say try everything and let the results determine what you should play. Ball don't lie.

I think they are doing it for market awareness and because OEM relationships are very, very important for a small start-up.

I've never seen that LAB SuperStroke before. Had the old CB LAB SuperStroke grip on my DF3 and it looks longer than this. If you want a guaranteed lie angle balanced putter, send it back to LAB. Otherwise, you can go to the local store and see which SuperStroke grip was on there. Be aware that there is weight variance in all golf components, including grips.

Mount Rushmore of putters for sure. Glad you're enjoying yours and rolling in bombs. Never had the opportunity to game one. Unfortunately, I jumped on the zero torque bus and not sure I can jump off at this point. Hah.

Tour Rickie Fowler - WITB - 2025 3M Open
is1ander replied to GolfWRX_Spotted's topic in Tour and Pre-Release Equipment
Ricky did well at the Open. Good to see. SteelFiber 125 will be pretty darn stout. The tech was far ahead of its time 20 years ago. I'm not sure there's a better graphite iron shaft out today. Comparable, yes, but not better. My only wish is a low spin variant. -
Callaway X Forged & X Forged Max Irons! In-Hand Pics!
is1ander replied to knudson81's topic in Tour and Pre-Release Equipment
It's not about the time. It's the cost of the forging molds. There simply is not enough demand for Callaway to break even on the molds. I hear a lot of OEMs are already taking a hit on right-handed MBs. Cobra's 3D printing is different. That requires no extra molds and only requires them to mirror the programming. -

Nice. The design is quite unique. I don't mind if it works. -
Ping 1OK -1 Flat with a Ventus TR shaft. Decreasing loft and setting to flat will open the face.

Haha, I would but I'm at work. -
Winn makes a 17" grip that is fantastic, 128g. It's a good bit smaller than SuperStrokes I've tried. same width as a Scotty Long Design grip but a bit shorter heel to toe.
