  1. I demoed both at my fitting out at Ping HQ and walked away with a full set of BPS. I actually hit the T just fine. I just didn't see anything that the T would do "better" than the S, whereas the S offered more forgiveness than the T. That was easy to tell pretty quickly through a couple of mishits with each. Actually "best for best," I might have hit the T just a slight bit better than the S...I remember maybe a little longer/lower launch. But "bad for bad," the S was miles ahead. It really wasn't a tough decision. Other than the "fun" of playing a blade though, I can't really see a reason for the T to be in the bag of anyone other than elite ball strikers. The S is in my opinion the best players option iron I have ever hit. Feels great, looks great, performs great, and enough forgiveness that you notice it on bad shots.
  2. The last one I saw in a store looked like something you’d get at Walmart. A distinctly “plastic” vibe. Not exactly what you want out of a $500 putter.
  3. It’s a low bounce K with trailing edge and heel relief and an aggressive leading edge grind. Not actually my favorite of the bunch, but wanted to experiment with it, and I totally get why people like it.
  4. I think they need a bigger “raw” sole to work with. I have: -T grind with tour grind 58 -M grind with heel relief and tour grind 58 -D grind with heel relief and tour grind 58 -M grind made into A+ 58 -LBK with K* / JT grind 58 -D grind with heel relief and tour grind 54 -46 and 50 F grind with tour grind and leading edge grind All just awesome. All this talk has gotten me thinking about ordering a fresh set.
  5. Awesome, glad you like it! I have gotten the M made into an A+ but not a V. I think they’ll pull off whatever you want though!
  6. Praying for you. Last couple of times I ordered from them, they showed up within 2 weeks.
  7. Smooth grind is awesome. That’s what my A+ is. And so cool that they can basically made you whatever you want for $70 extra. To me that’s not pricey at all for what you get.
  8. That's funny...for some reason I had in my head that the SM6 always felt the smallest of the last several gens to me. That said, they were the only ones I had in the black finish, so it may have been my eyes playing tricks on me. Also, I have mentioned this in other Vokey threads before, but if you feel like off the rack Vokeys look a little chunky (I personally do), then I cannot recommend enough doing their custom grind option and getting the Tour Grind. It shrinks the overall appearance of the head significantly. I still remember opening my first set of Tour Grinds from them (the SM8s). I grabbed the PW first and looked down at it and was like "holy sh&t that looks great." Just takes material off in all the right places and gives it a much more compact and appealing appearance. Their hand ground program is just levels above what anyone else can do. I have owned probably 10 of their hand ground wedges, and they do an amazing job. And for lefties, it's the only way to get certain offerings. For example, no A+ grind offered for lefties, but I just asked them to make me one out of an M grind - no problem at all. A little pricey I guess, but who's counting? 😆
  9. Somewhat on topic to earlier posts in this thread, but I saw the S159 have been discounted...S259 must not be far off!
  10. All-time irons. I still remember getting my set in '03. Found them on ebay, talked my mom into getting them for me, and proceeded to wait the longest 4-5 days of my life for that box to show up. In all my life, there was never a Christmas morning where I was as excited as that day. Played them for years...2-PW. Used to hit the crap out of that 2 iron. GLWS!!!!!!
  11. It’s hard to imagine a better fitting than the one you get at TPI. It’s the only place I have ever been where they have “everything.” You get fit with your ball (whatever Titleist ball you play) and they have ALL shafts and clubs they offer. ALL of them. Even for me (a lefty), they fit with the interchangeable-shaft 7 iron head, but then when I got the shaft I liked, they went back in the “shed” and got me a couple other irons with that same shaft. I was shocked, and assume for a righty means they have even more. They even have different types of grass out in the short game area so you can test wedges in all conditions. They also did fitting a little differently for a “better” player (which is, I guess, me). After I got heads and shafts I liked, all the attention switched to loft gapping and peak height consistency, which was really cool. Lots of attention paid to the top half of the bag. I also did my wedge fitting with Mr. Vokey, which was a once in a lifetime experience (note, this was “extra” and I’m not sure it’s even offered anymore). Amazing day out there. Even writing this kind of makes me want to go back.
