  1. He plays the left dot which is similar to the ProV1 but launches a touch lower. So technically, he is playing a Titleist ball.
  2. I have the KBS hybrid proto 105X in my driving iron and it's solid. Way more stable than the OG Ventus blue HB. It feels more linear like the GOST and I can work it both ways. Not the smoothest hybrid shaft in the world, but it has enough feel. You don't need to go after to make it work either. VF HY 105X is also another solid option that has the same EI profile as X100. It's super smooth, feels linear and stable enough. Launch/spin are similar to X100 from the testing I've done.
  3. Obvious answer is Axiom 125X. Just remember though they are different EI profiles. $-taper stiff/med+/med Axiom med+/stiff/stiff EI profile may or may not affect your delivery into the ball. Axiom does have a bit of kick but it's right under the handle whereas as the $-taper is in the lower mid. Both are smooth.
  4. Are they like the OG Lin-Q black? If so, I'm game to get one for driver.
  5. Highly doubt you will see 20 yards gain with a new driver, but if you do, that's great. What the new drivers do is retain higher ball speeds on mishits compared to the older stuff and spin doesn't drop like crazy on toe balls.
  6. Used to work at the course that my father was part of the ownership group. Started in the pro shop but they needed me over in maintenance. The super told me the most important rule for hole placement is to find a flat spot on whatever tier and punch the hole there. Not only does it not slow down pace of play, it also keeps the golfers from getting pissed and filing complaints, LOL.
  7. Going to Indio next weekend. Will be playing Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye course and PGA West Stadium course. Luckily I snagged early am tee times, however, temps will be 100+ during peak time. Thin and light colored clothes, plenty of sun screen, a cold neck towel, water and a cooler with lots of ice will do the trick. I go almost every year in August to celebrate my birthday with my brother and two cousins.
  8. Found a Maxfli Tour X out in the wild and it's a really good urethane ball. Color me surprised, even SHOCKED!!! Distance wise, it's right up there with pretty much any urethane X ball, spins enough with irons and green side spin is pretty good.(don't like balls that stop and spin back). I will be picking up a box soon as the price is good and it performs well for my swing.
  9. Velo+ blue has a stiffer handle.
  10. No way. I feel like I'm 80 some days. Not a fan of the hippie look although I'm sporting a mullet at the moment. Did it on a dare from a client.
  11. Rooting for the guy but he needs a haircut, bad.........
  12. Z Star Diamond is pretty close although it's firmer than the B XS but not quite XV firm.
  13. Yeah, we gotta include men, women, transexuals, hermaphrodites, etc. Excuse me for not being PC, lol. Speed training does make a big difference.
  14. Already there bro. Started when I was in my 20's, lol. I too went from 122 ss to 118 now. However, I have bad knees and herniated discs in my back so I have an excuse, lol. What's Camilo's? J/K.
  15. Smart man if that's the case. Living within your means unlike a lot of pro athletes. Hopefully a good portion of his money is tied up in investments.
  16. Brittney Lincicome and Gerina Pillar lost distance after having kids as well. Oh wait, are we talking about men? LOL. I don't have kids, however, I'll take your word for it, ha!
  17. I originally wanted to go with the OG Ventus black HB, however it didn't quite spin enough, hence the KBS proto. Both Velo+ black HB and KBS proto work well for aggressive transition and will have enough feel, IMO. KBS proto isn't quite as smooth as the KBS Tour/$-taper and will feel more linear but it's still quite stable. I'm able to work the ball both ways as well whereas with the Velo+ black HB, it's bit harder to turnover.
  18. He sorta counteracts that by playing the TR black which is true low launch/spin. His setup is high launch low spin and it makes sense. Rahmbo plays a 10.5* and has it set 1* closed which is technically 11* and plays the Ventus black.
  19. Most likely due to the stiff handle of all the Ventus shafts. Speeder line varies in stiffness/softness for handles and feel smoother overall compared to Ventus line, IMO.
  20. Camilo used to be a 120 mph ss guy with driver back in the day when he was with Cobra. Wtf happened?!!! He still looks very fit and still obviously works out. I've seen him play in a few tourneys over the past couple years and his ball speed is around 165 which equates to around 110 ss.
  21. Love the Stickies, however they do get wear spots on them if you firmly grip your clubs. They're on the softer side and very tacky. Wash them with warm water and soap and the tackiness comes right back. I end up replacing them every year. I play and hit the range once a week.
  22. I've tested the VF HY, Velo+ black HB, Axiom 105X and have the KBS proto. The lowest launching/spinning option would be the Velo+ black HB. VF HY would a touch higher launch with low spin but feel is second to none. Velo+ black HB has enough feel, IMO. Axiom 105X will probably feel like a wet noodle because it's EI profile is the same as the Dart V and has some kick/bend under the handle and the KBS hybrid proto feels pretty linear and stout but still has a subtle kick/bend in the lower mid and is mid/mid.
