  1. The recent PXG putters that I've seen all have a black ferrule/trim ring installed at the end of the shaft. Any idea where to get these? I asked PXG and unfortunately they can't provide them.
  2. I was fortunate enough to play RMR when it was fully private about 25 years ago. You wouldn't believe the conditions back then compared to now. It was one of the few courses in the valley that overseeded everywhere. It was green and lush all year and always in fantastic shape. Things have gone downhill since but the last few years the conditions have really improved. That aside, you'll either love the course or hate it. It's a true target style desert course that will really test your short game. Apparently Andrew Magee played it and shot 78 calling it the one of the toughest courses he had ever seen. He won the PGA Tour event in Tucson later that week. The green fees seem to be way lower than most courses so I would definitely give it a shot!

I just played there last week. The views are incredible and it's in phenomenal shape right now. It's easily one of the best courses I've ever played.
  4. You can use a larger diameter bit to drill out the epoxy from a pulled steel shaft. As long as you're not really careless I wouldn't worry about damaging the inside of the shaft. However, for graphite I'd recommend this self-centering chuck for drilling out tips. It comes with a short 1/8" drill bit but I found some Bosch 6" bits that work way better. The 5/32 bit (BL2637) fits the self-centering hole perfectly. https://www.golfworks.com/self-centering-graphite-shaft-tip-cleaner/p/gw1110/
  5. 4) As mentioned it’s best to swingweight a club that’s ungripped. If you absolutely need to drill out the epoxy with the grip on, this tool will let you easily remove the bits of epoxy so you don’t end up with it rattling inside the shaft. It also gives you access to drill from the grip end although drilling from the shaft tip end is the most common method. https://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-grip-saver/p/saver/
  6. The math is exactly the same. Any calculator that requires inputting values is only as accurate as your measurements. It’s hard to be really off on total weight but mis-measured balance points will cause significant swing weight errors.
  7. I agree with Phizzy. I just compared your pictures to my IZ-7 S which I know is authentic and the graphics look identical.
  8. I'm all for using whatever tools you have on hand, but I also believe you can't have too many tools 🙂. I can't say enough good things about this shaft cutter/belt sander from Golf Mechanix. The shaft clamp ensures nice clean square cuts every time. Feeds the shaft into the blade not the other way around. Built-in ruler. The 1x30 belts are very easy to change and align. Prepping shaft tips is a breeze. Super easy to turn down ferrules. Has dust collection ports on both ends. https://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-1-x-30-shaft-cutter-ferrule-turning-machine-gw1120/p/gw1120/
  9. All you need to know about swing weight and total weight slope is right here. This post should be a sticky.
  10. I subscribe to Russ' advanced data which lets you overlay any number of shaft profiles on the same graph. We're not allowed to post the numbers or detailed graphs but I can confirm that in terms of EI curves, the KBS Tour 105s and TGI 90 have nearly identical EI bend profiles and bend profile signatures. In general, the Tour and TGI shafts have very similar EI profiles just as KBS claims. If you're use to the Tour or $-Taper shafts then the TGI line should be a good fit. You just have to experiment to find the right shaft weight. I was a long time KBS Tour 120 user and then played the $-Taper 120 for a few years. I switched from those to the TGI 80 about a year ago. Even though the weight is significantly lower, it only took me about a week to get use to them. For me the feel and performance is identical to the KBS steel shafts.
