  1. At one point, Mizuno had an app you could download to interpret the numbers and see recommendations. edit: just looked, don’t see anything.
  2. Wow, yeah. Ours is first week of October.
  3. There are a few of us here. Here is a thread that has some activity. https://forums.golfwrx.com/topic/1981493-moebryson-single-plane-swing-thread/
  4. I think that over the years, he pursued perfection as in a perfectly square clubface for as long as possible. And that led him to the wide stance and hitting into his legs as he liked to say. It really does reduce clubface rotation. But it requires a lot of work to get down through the ball, for me anyway. I'm more like the video in this thread. Not as good, of course.
  5. I used the tool, and alternated it with air pressure, a lot of air pressure. Overall it was a lot of work but I did get the grip off. I've done 2 or 3 now. Not easy but can be done.
  6. This is every entrepreneur's dream jackpot. First Bill Presse invents the better mousetrap. Then Sam Hahn discovers it and realizes it has untapped potential. He makes it into a high margin growth company. Buyers like high margin growth companies. Congrats to Bill and Sam and any silent investors! I don't know what will happen and I don't care. Apparently, dealing with LAB has become inconvenient, so it is likely to get better. Obviously they needed to scale up to some degree. Not losing any sleep over this.
  7. Just wanted to be sure. In the previous sentence you said don't try to hit up, so it was a bit gray for me. Thanks for clarifying.
  8. Sqairz offered a limited run of wides. I bought a pair. But I am going to move on to wides of other brands. Larossa made my first 2 pairs into rockers. But I came realize I didn’t need that. I didn’t have stability issues with any of them.
  9. I have not gotten any worse since using the modified shoe. Larossa slices the sole and inserts a steel shank that is centered under the forefoot. I have found a local guy who is going to try to do it on my next pair. The other thing I’ve found is that I need a WIDE forefoot shoe. Which usually means a wide shoe, but also with the full shape. All of which helps the big toe sit straight. If I golfed in regular flexible shoes, I’d be a lot worse.
  10. DFW predicted to have the first 100 either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. This is pretty late.
  11. Thanks! We are heading up in a few days. Those two are on my list.
  12. Unfortunately his logic is flawed. I commented on the video. In the 3rd minute, when he demonstrated “in line” with the face balanced putter, yes it did not twist. Why not? Well, because he held it plumb/ vertical/ straight up and down. Had he swung it in the playing angle (lie angle), it would have flopped open. Which is what the revealer shows. I had high hopes for a solid video, and have no problem with someone concluding that they are not for everyone. But that kind of misunderstanding just ruins the credibility. Most days it seems that no one in the golf media and teaching establishment understands the basic physics involved. Sigh.
  13. Nice! Moe with a whiplash, Padraig Harrington sort of look.
  14. I imagine part of the SGI decision flow chart is, are you a slicer? Then, are you a flipper? If a person slices, it probably helps to have stronger lofts and less spin. If a person flips, the strong lofts could be helpful, but they are already not spinning the ball, so I don't know. If a person is simply a low swing speed player with reasonable mechanics, the last things they need are stronger lofts and less spin. IMO. I think the higher loft versions of the hot irons are the best compromise for the low swing speed player. (I've been asking for this for years.) Obviously the club companies are coming to the same conclusion. Some might say, "But it's just a number on the sole!" No, it's not. It's also club length. The player should swing a 34d 7 iron faster than a 34d 8 iron, unless they've simply made the 8 iron longer and lighter to be the old 7 iron. A lot of companies have kept the traditional lengths, though.
  15. It's just splitting hairs between those two models. Don't give it another thought.
  16. I watched a video from the spy site that had a great discussion about the topic of what is a super game improvement iron nowadays. Their position was that it has become all about distance and jacked lofts. Which means lower launch and less spin. But, people who need forgiveness usually need higher launch and spin. And that for the target buyer, higher launch and more spin should be a much higher priority than “maximum forgiveness”. @JChip , what kind of ball do you play?
  17. Fellow slower swinger here. I like your wedges answer. For me the answer is irons. I had a very hard time finding irons (shafts) that time up my swing the way I want. Once I got ones that worked, my scores have improved. Especially my worst scores. Next would be the 6 hybrid. I have not solved it. I need it on a couple of par 3s. If and when I get it right, I will probably drop a stroke. Which is big. You know, for old guys like you and me, I could make a good case that hybrids and fairway woods are the most important clubs to get right. Most of us slow swingers can keep the driver in play so it's not as big of a variable for us. Other than hitting it farther, which of course is big but rarely accomplished.
  18. This is why there is a better method of tip cleanup. Press the tip against a bench. Grasp the shaft with your off hand, and press the end of your thumb straight down onto the upper limit of the prep area. Your fingernail (straight up and down) is now a stop. Using a utility knife, hold the blade perpendicular to the shaft. Scrape back and forth. This will remove paint and epoxy, but not graphite. I know it sounds dangerous, but you would have to see it to realize it is not. Many pros do this. Wear a big glove if you want, but it’s not necessary. If you are not comfortable, then don’t do it. OP, I’d clean it up as above, then use a shim.
  19. What steel shafts do you already like, and how particular are you about iron shafts?
  20. Would it be just as effective if you threw an acorn, or a tee? I can’t see how those would be disallowed.
  21. IST Pro 7 wood. In my opinion, it’s more of a players club than super game improvement. Lower, stronger flight. Seems like lower spin and a bit less forgiveness. Your mileage may vary.
  22. That might be a little higher than needed. Try turning them down a little and see what happens to your ball speed and distance.
  23. I'm reporting on my experience in pulling the IST shaft adapters. They have a movable ring, but I don't think it can be removed (unlike the Callaway adapter.) On the Cally, if you don't remove it before heating, you run the risk of the the ring turning brown. After 2 pulls for reshafting, with as little heat as possible (torch), the ring has not changed. I made it a point to direct the flame to the body and not the ring. But the paint on the adapter body, the hidden parts of the body, has been compromised. Small flakes have come off. No big deal at this point but if you were doing it for a customer, that would be different. So, it has survived 2 pulls, but at the cost of some paint damage in areas that don't show when installed.
