Doak has some good books on course design. I don’t think you can separate green design from the rest of the course. The land will dictate good green sites and the routing land movement and green contours all have to work together to provide interesting challenges.

I’m going to be in Radnor for work next month with my clubs and would like to get in another round after work. Looks like there are a ton of great clubs in the area, but not sure about public options. Anything worth checking out? Any clubs that would be a good option with a call from my pro to play on a Tuesday evening? Thanks!

Doak writes about this and I agree with him. Lesser players should have the thrill of carrying a hazard too. 2 and maybe 15 are the only holes that have anything resembling a forced carry and 2 doesn’t result in a lost ball. That seems pretty fair to me.

My irons just arrived and look great. Unfortunately, the PW was cut the wrong length and is 1/4” too short. Hopefully Srixon will send a new wedge soon. Can’t wait to put these in play.

Ordered three black wedges: 50 bent to 51, 56 and 60 bent to 61. All 1/2” short. All specs matched and delivered to my club in under 2 weeks even with the 4th of July.
