  1. Hey man, I am looking to book a group of 12 for next fall in the Mesquite/ St. George area. A lot of the info on this board is a few years old. We would fly into Vegas on a Wednesday and head to either St. George or Mesquite. We would prob do two nights in both areas unless you suggest otherwise? We like to stay on site to limit the driving. Do any of the good courses have 36 or where should we stay? Here is a list of courses so far but we would probably only play 4 rounds depending on the flight situation. We like to play 36, 18, 18.

    Thanks!

    Sand Hollow

    Black Desert

    Conestoga

    Wolf Creek

    The Ledges

I really don’t have first had experience with accommodations and don’t know much about rentals on courses other than The Ledges because I volunteer there. I’ve had friends stay in the houses (condos?) there and they said the price was good and as all of the construction is new they are nice. Ledges only has 18 but it’s a good course.

Sand Hollow has two courses but one is a par 3, and the other courses you list are all 18. There are rental units near SH but I don’t know anything about them. I’m not sure if Black Desert will be an option when you come as it’s transitioning to private. I’ve never played it because of the cost. I dropped $500 for a round at Pebble but not going to pay that for something local.

The Mesquite courses you listed are good, though I’d do Wolf Creek and Falcon Ridge over Conestoga.  Another St. George option is Copper Rock, a new course that hosts an LPGA event.

If I were planning the trip I’d book a place at the Ledges and play there and either Sand Hollow or Copper Rock. There are lots of good restaurants in SG and if you haven’t had enough golf you can go to Big Shots in the evening. It’s like Top Golf and has decent bar food.

I’d then stay in Mesquite and play the courses there. Your drive to the airport is an hour shorter which may be a good thing if you play hard while you’re here.

If you do make the trip I can give you a list of restaurants etc that I’ve given to other WRX’rs.
