  1. I have both and DF2.1 is still king. I sometimes regret not getting a DF2.1 sweeper, but a DF3. The only valid arguments against DF2.1 (gawky looks dont count for me) is that it takes up an ENORMOUS amount of space in the bag and some people struggle with alignment because of the onset/shaft being so far behind the face.
  2. This exactly. FWIW, LAB CEO Sam Hahn also advises to err long in a broom/sweeper, as cutting of 1-2" is easier than extending. If you really find yourself gripping down all the time due to comfort, you can still cut it anytime. When figuring out length for my custom LAB, I chocked down on a 45" Taylormade broom for multiple rounds and it works just fine, if you dont insist on having your thumb on top. Speaking of thumbs: Its VERY personal. Just try a bunch of different ways to grip the right and the left hand and find what makes the stroke the easiest to repeat. But be careful: The "right" grip might not feel natural right away. The lower hand grip I use now (suppinated right arm, palm "under" the grip and upper arm sticking to the upper body) felt super weird at first, but it makes the stroke absolutely automatic. Took me 5-7 rounds and multiple practice session to make it feel somewhat "normal" but its still a little weird.
  3. They probably (!) would install your shaft into a DF2.1 and balance it, if you send them your shaft. They usually charge 100$ for rebalance and shaft installation (+cost of the shaft) when you send your putter back to make a shaft change. If you buy a new putter, the shaft installation and balancing should already be included so in theory you should get yours for the stock/custom price listed on the website. Try reaching out to their customer service, they are really good!
  4. Thats what I was talking about. Some people seem to feel and dislike it, for others its a non-factor. Really crazy 😃
  5. I opted for the TPT over Accra before the Gears was an option. I had a steel shafted Taylormade broom before and the shaft was a noodle. Some people stated they can feel the Accra flex during the stroke which I knew I didnt want. TPT is great and I`d spend the 400 bucks on it again in a heartbeat. That being said, if I ever buy another putter I might give the gears a try. Sounds like its also very stable and its quite a bit less than the TPT. Long story short: If you dont like to feel "action" in the shaft - especially if you use longer shaft lengths >45" - Accra might not be it. On the other hand, many people have the Accra and dont mind it, so in the end its only guessing if you cant test all of them in parallel for yourself (which you probably cant)
