Am I an idiot for getting "fitted" as a semi-beginner?

I concur. Did a fitting a few weeks ago, with one simple change (lie angle) I went to immediately making better consistent contact. Got them yesterday and could not get over how night and day it was to my old iron set. Would have never known that had I not went and got fitted. Makes the game a lot more enjoyable when you have the right equipment for YOUR setup/swing.
