Portmarnock needs to be a lock, it is a must play. Then I'd say the Island, although the other courses are nice too.

So you will drive from Portrush to St Patricks after your round on April 23 and then from St Patricks to Carne after your round on April 24? You have to drive past Enniscrone to get to Carne so you'll be doubling back like 1-2hrs to get back to Enniscrone for your PM round. Ultimately up to you of course but its a very busy trip for what is effectively 5 full days and two half days due to travel. You could probably squeeze more out of it if you limited the travel a bit. Western Gailes is a great course if you want to do two in one day on the Troon day.

Easy to do yourself, especially if there is only a couple of you. Figure out how long the trip will be and then come up with a list of courses. Some courses only allow play on certain days and certain times, so having more courses than you can play is good incase of substitutions. You should also try to book as soon as their books open for the following year to avoid disappointment. The problem with Ireland is there are fantastic courses all around the island. So you need to have a bit of a gameplan.
