  1. An interesting observation when a golf ball is pushed to high speed and high spin. I work with a golf ball air cannon that has a patented curved barrel that shoots a golf ball at 200+MPH with 6700 RPM. The cannon shoots travel between 350-400+ yards with roll out. We use this cannon at charity fund raising scrambles events. One of my observations is that when golf balls are pushed to that speed/spin combination, not all balls are equal in performance (degree of curve right or left and into crosswinds). While it is impossible to tell by looking at a ball, a ball that is out of round or if the cores are out of balance, the ball will fly offline in varying degrees. In my observation, the Pro V1s are the straightest flying balls (as expected), but they are NOT always perfect. But more often than other brands, the ProVs fly very straight and hold their line in crosswinds than the other brands of balls. That is not to say that other brands of balls do not fly straight, it is that is noticeable that the ProVs are consistently better. I'm not sure if Titleist balls go through this type of testing, but the golf ball cannon shot results do uncover potential offline issues even in Pro V1s. It would be interesting if Bryson DeChambeau played a Prov1x that had been tested and verified by the cannon as one of the "straight" balls to see if this helps improve/straighten his ball flight.
