That means a lot. Sorry for indirectly putting you down before, I didn't know what I was talking about. In the same video he said don't trust anyone in a strip center with a camera to make you better, it was a straight dagger to the heart.

Just watched a new video from my favorite golfer of all time, and friend, Lee Trevino, advocating a "weak" right hand position to hit both draws (more forward ball position) and fades (more trail foot ball position). Why is this frowned upon now with "modern" instructors teaching the exact opposite? Is there any advantage of a strong right hand teaching draws from the back foot and fades from the front foot?

Thanks for sharing, that is extremely helpful for me and completely changes the way I view the golf and baseball swing. I do the exact opposite (rolling the hands over past the midline and pulling in to move the club forward), love this. Thanks again.

It is and will a be a great job for the guy you're bringing in. Seems like you have an awesome club. I'm still here to help if needed, had to shoot my shot. The guy who breeds the grass is Richard Hurley He wants to make sure all of the courses that have his cultivars succeed. It would be worth your time to reach out to him.

Are you a good student/proper practice

Not in your case, but if your clubhead is only about a foot behind the ball and 10 inches off the ground at left arm parallel, it's pretty hard to make a swing from there. -

I can't buy into this because when you try what they are saying, and go all in and get significantly worse, then try what cartoon Dr. Evil online is saying and you immediately get better results, it gets a little murky. It feels dirty, like cheating on a wife I've never had. But not going to sacrifice my game to hang on to a failed relationship. -
On that swing, yes. He's very dynamic and has some where there's almost none, until the downswing, but I will be ignoring those, and basically everything he does from now on. I love him as a player, but have learned it's not in my best interest to copy, even though it's been a tough pill to swallow. I appreciate the information.

Perfect, thanks for the explanation!

With our Open Championship winner Scottie having very little to no wrist hinge on the backswing, to having 90 degrees on the downswing, I'm assuming we should treat this as an outlier, and not a model to copy? I only ask because that is what I am being taught even though my swing is quite flat and not vertical like his. Thank you all for the help.

Thank you.

Awesome, thank you for your help.

Thank you. I think you may have misinterpreted what I was trying to say, or more likely I failed to communicate what I meant. I'm not against short and slower swings, I want to do them. That is a strategy that I had not heard before, and am very grateful for your advice. I was trying to communicate that as I get slower, it gets worse, which proves your point that what I'm doing is incorrect. The float loading and late hinge doesn't work unless I'm absolutely trying to hit the piss out of the ball, which is why I don't trust it and can't incorporate it into my "playing" swing. My awful swing is more effective the way it is than adding those things.

Thank you Monte, will do. Didn't know this was a thing, thank you for the advice The slower speed, the more hook, more fat shots, more problems, which probably exactly proves your point. Appreciate that but no offense taken, I came here looking for criticism, I can take it and want to hear it. Thank you, I haven't addressed that before because I didn't know it was happening. Very helpful! The swings I posted were my natural swing. Basically no thoughts just look at target, hit to target. I want to get an opinion on that. It's been long enough that the weight shift and ground forces stuff has transferred into my "natural" or playable swing, but while I'm working on hands and arms stuff it's not playable at this point.

They need oxygen this time of year, it's not that crazy. if you have guys there until 5 or 6 PM every day to give them the moisture they need but nothing more. More air movement above and below the ground the better. They get hydrophobic and closed off otherwise. We do it in Dallas in August and it improves them with the same grass that he has. Obviously I don't know what's going on there but with his comment of them turning yellow, that's a sign of too much water. To little water, they will turn "purple" then white, then light brown or grey when the leaves start to die, but it will come back and start pushing new leaves. If it turns yellow and orange, and looks slimy and kind of like cheese, then it's way too wet and is about to die, and won't come back. Bermuda and zoysia the exact opposite, yellow and orange mean stressed but in good shape. Bentgrass yellow and orange in summer = worst case scenario in our location. Like others have said, without pictures, we're just guessing.

The stop at the ball is to get the club moving past the hands, but I'm an expert at that already, just in the wrong direction (very much in to out and about a foot behind the center of my body.) Ok I'll get some videosd tomorrow after work at my local course or the course I wok at, outside of the "studio." I'm not trying to hate or complain on these guys as my weight/ pressure shift has massively improved. Very thankful for them, but we're missing something. -

Thanks. What would recommend for those that leave the arms up and drop the hands in? The answer I was given was to float load, push the handle down, and stop at the ball to release the club. -
Slopegraide roll maps anyone using them?
TexasTurf replied to Peter_b's topic in Instruction & Academy
Yes. This is exactly what I use for practice, and I haven't missed a put since I started using this. So amazing and so genius. I love it and want to give the creator very much money, do you have a link where I can send them my life savings? -

This killed my game the last 7 years. Instructor today asked me to move my hands down, so I moved my hands out several times at first and was informed the hands were going out, not down, and that my perspective of the swing is completely off by about 90 degrees. Which is awesome information. So in my case down is down, and out is out, and this is BUNK! I've met this guy a few times in person when he was here, and he is awesome. Still love him, never taken a lesson from him, but it's not for everyone.
