The only thing I know for sure is that Scottie 100% regrets rambling on about this. He was visibly annoyed that reporters wouldn't shut up about it after winning the open.

Absolutely. The old scoring system was the dumbest idea in the history of golf.

If Rory wins a fedex playoff event and the tour championship there is an argument (if Scottie doesn't win any more tournaments). Outside of that, it's already over. And let's be honest, Scottie will probably win at least one more time this year.

Ha. Look at the replay. He is still looking down when his practice swing hits the rough. ANY golfer, even a 20 handicap, notices when a ball moves as the result of a practice swing.

No way! Just put coolers full of beer at every hole and have an A and B group.

I'd support shotgun starts for large field events, but on Thursday/Friday only. It would ruin the viewing experience on the weekend, and with a smaller field on the weekend there isn't as much variance in the weather.

The only course I can think of that is close to what he described (Yards/Slope/Rating) in San Antonio is Cedar Creek. I've played every course in the surrounding area and can't think of another that matches more closely than Cedar. But I could be wrong. -
