  1. Also, I don't think the tariffs really affected the golf ball market and now that deals have been struck with Vietnam, S. Korea, Japan, Indonesia and a framework with China, etc. they won't affect the prices with any significance. If you see any change in price it may be less than 5 cents a ball and I'll call that high. Since Titleist and Callaway are made here and the competition is fierce between all the ball manufacturers so I think they ate or will eat any tariff increase. Seems 15% is the baseline with the trade deals which is relatively low. The tariffs on China were about 20% since 2021 and the new deal will raise them to around 30%. That's a minimal difference.
  2. I get that "nippy" shot with the TP5. The MT don't much but I spin it on longish chips and pitches. Same with the Vice Pro. I WISH I had a 102 mph SS! LOL. Mine hovers in the 92-95 range. Good contact on driver I'll carry 220-230. My average carry is 215-220 unless the fairway is hard with a tailwind. I'll get out to 250 total with those conditions. I'm not as consistent a ball striker that my HCP suggests (12 index). My 120 yds into short game is what saves me. I like the spin I get on the MT for the 30-120 yd shots and like the roll out from the chipping. Trying to work through random TP5 and Chrome Soft to play the MT and Vice Pro only. I have the KSig RS for certain courses with insane amounts of water hazards and to give to my son to play because, tho he's 24, daddy brings the golf balls. LOL.
  3. I get what you're saying and are probably right. This, then, is now a mental issue. If I'm playing an "X" ball I start swinging harder and throw my tempo off and hit crappy shots. LOL. This aggravates me because I purposefully stayed away from the "X" models because of this "Myth". I hate this game. LOL. Why do these ball companies market the balls like this then? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to market to what the ball characteristics are rather than swing speed? Take Vice for instance. They purposefully market the Pro Plus to higher swing speed players because of the four piece construction. This has to be bulls**t because the TP5 is a five piece construction and they have an "X" model. Now I have to buy more golf balls to test this out! 🤦‍♂️
  4. I've been playing the 23' Tour since I got 8 dozen 18 months ago. I also play the 22' Vice Pro because of a similar purchase binge. They are very close in performance for me but I think the Vice Pro is a tad "softer". That being said I've been playing some TP5 Pix that are at least one generation, possibly 2, prior to 2025 that my daughter got me a dozen for Xmas. I have to say, they spin like crazy. On softer greens I'm backing up balls with a 9 iron. That may seem great but I do get more "fade" spin that is a difference to being on the fairway or in the rough or woods. I really like the less spin characteristics of the Maxfli Tour and why that is my "Gamer" for league and competition rounds. I've yet to play the 2025 ball and hoping there's no discernable difference between the '23 and '25. I don't think I have the swing speed to play the X ball (Driver distance ranges from 210-215 on 'OK contact and 220-230 on good contact (Northeast at sea level). So if the '25 Tour is playing like an 'X then I'll either have to try the Tour S or go back to Vice, Unfortunately.
  5. I have the 2022 version Cleveland Hywood (18*) and the new Cleveland Halo XL 4h and finally an old Cleveland DST 5h 26* circa 2012-2013 with a Diamana R shaft. I love my Cleveland hybrids. Really only hybrids I hit well with any level of consistency. Got my 1st H.I-1 after 40 years of playing golf with the Hywood last year. Needless to say I'm a Cleveland hybrid fanboy. I hit the 5h fairly well and like the performance I get with it. I'm looking to replace it but don't want to spend $200+ to get the new Halo. How would you compare the Pro IST hybrids to the Cleveland? If they're close, I'm going for the Maltby.
