  1. Well the reality is that you’re not going to get one without the other in terms of greenside spin and iron spin. So you’re going to have to swallow one with the other.
  2. Thats why I thought Z-star might be kind of the goldilocks ball here. BXS is super spinny off the driver, whereas the Z-Star is far more middle of the road driver spin wise.
  3. Does anyone have any direct comparisons between these two. Particularly the 1.0, 2.0 PT or 1.0PT in comparison to the tapered QT pistol. Seem to be around the same diameter (not sure what the size difference is between the 1.0 and 2.0 PT since the diameter seems to be about .03" or something ridiculous like that and both seem to be the exact same size as the QT Pistol tapered, .99" 1.02" and 1.0" respectively). Have the Quad Tour Pistol non tapered on a mallet putter I had, but for whatever reason tend to like something smaller on my blade putters so I wanted to try one of either the tapered or the PT's out. Not exactly sure why I need the smaller grip with the blade, just feels more right to me. I put a quad tour pistol pro on the blade putter I have initially because I wanted to try a slightly bigger quad tour and absolutely hated it, and now playing around with an old ping putter I have with the pp58, realize I love the feel of the smaller grip on the blade. Any thoughts from people who have tried any combo of these.
  4. I'm usually a data guy, but after grinding over the decision of what ball I should try, between the tour and tour x, as well as a few other options, I decided on the tour X and couldn't be happier. Could be that I'm currently playing the best golf of my life, but its giving me everything I want out of the ball. Spin around the greens has been exactly what I want, and haven't noticed any give in driver distance from the pro V1.
  5. This is exactly what the other sites ball test is for, it literally gives you a graph where you can pick the axis. So you can put compression on one side and spin on the other. For the 2023 balls (so not the most up to date testing but gives you an idea). The best options seem to be the srixon balls, or funny enough the Bridgstone B XS. Both seem to be exactly what you're looking for, a touch softer than the pV1 and just a bit spinnier than the x with the irons. For the Srixon balls the z-star is basically the exact same as the B XS for mid iron spin/compression numbers, but the Z Star is way lower spinning with the driver. Honestly this seems to me like the one you should try most. The other option if you want to go to the extreme with the spin is the Diamond, which is a bit higher compression than the prov1 but sort of sits in between the two but spin is through the roof compared to even the pv1x
  6. Curious to see if they'll ever come out with a t350 utility option with a pretty large chunk of the tour guys going with the 350 over the 250 and 505 (aberg, zalatoris, Li etc). Seems like it's become the preferred driving iron.
  7. Just out of curiosity how would the modus 120 x/tx fit into that simplified mold you bucketed those two into.
