  1. Cobra darkspeed LS with Aretera Aloha One Gray 65/5
  2. Did you try the G400 Max? The Max 10k is also good
  3. The idea being, say you want a 7 degree G440 Max driver. The lowest loft that comes in is 9 degrees. The sleeve is adjustable +- 1.5. But, because of manufacturing tolerances, some of the 9 degree drivers are actually more like 8.2 degrees, or 9.7 degrees. When you buy it, you don’t know what it actually will be. Digital lofting allows you to tell ping “I want a head that is closer to 8-8.5 degrees (as opposed to potentially being 9 on the dot or closer to 9.5),” so that you can turn it down to that 7 degree setting you want. Ping will measure their 9 degree heads, until they find one in your range.
  4. So if I’m in a Darkspeed LS (the original), 9 turned down to 8, but with extra weight added to the head and the heaviest weight back (12 back, 4 toe, 8 heel), and I’m Ping curious (use a 430 LST 3 wood as a 4 wood and a G400 7 wood) and a somewhat high spin player, do I try the 440 LST or 430? Want more forgiveness but don’t want to give up too much distance. going to try both out against my gamer and a gt2/3 so should be interesting, only asking for folks experiences on the above because my gamer shaft (alpha one grey) isn’t going to be available at the fitting so won’t be apples to apples
  5. I second the ping i series with the right shaft added. Even in power spec lofts I got great spin
  6. I generally only use my gap for full swings, so I’ve tried to blend it into my irons. Irons are Apex pro 24s, and game wedge is the prior model Apex TCB. I’ve done it both ways and I’m not sure there is a right answer, it’s whatever works for you.
  7. Just put in an order for a tour rack 58 adapt from discount dans. Cannot believe I’ve never ordered from them, great service. Next I need to find what I want from the 54, but there is a National Custom Works 53 degree wedge with a crescent sole that’s caught my eye 🙂 Excited to put these in play to replace my SM10s
  8. Just wondering if anyone still has the original Aretera alpha one blue or grey (the ones they pulled from shelves after the lawsuit by Fuji) in the bag, and how they have been stacking up to current offerings.
  9. You do realize what site this is? Fixed it for you
  10. 75X in both. The heavier shafts work better in fairways for me
  11. have the ping tour 2.0 chrome in my 3 and 7. Fantastic shafts. Liked the black in driver as well but at the moment I’m playing a darkspeed
  12. Lowering loft would increase offset but 1 degree likely wouldn’t make a huge difference. I think for a PW, S400 to X100 may change the spin, but no guaranty you will end up with a reduction or that it would be to the extent you are thinking you would need for the exact distance gap. It would, however, give you consistent x100 shafts in your full swing clubs, which in my mind is the real benefit. You probably also will want to check the swing weight of the specialty wedge, to make sure the progression from your full swing clubs is working. Lead tape may be your friend. Once you try those two things, I think you can examine tweaking the loft.

    7 Wood

Ping G400 7W in the bag with a chrome ping tour 2.0 75X shaft (at a little less than 5W length). A g430 LST with a chrome ping tour 2.0 at 3 wood length but turned up to 4 wood loft is my other fairway and I mainly use it off the tee when I want to hit a draw (still is a monster distance wise even with the loft up) or need more control. Can use it from the fairway but generally don’t unless I really wanna make a play at a very long par 5. this set up tends to give me just a tiny bit more distance from my 7W, but I can take a little pace off too
  14. I feel like we will eventually see a 3D printed driverhead with the marketing speak that it has allowed them to print the crown, sole, and face to optimize weight placement to maximize distance and forgiveness in a way that traditional manufacturing, even with ai-optimization, cannot do I will 100% believe the hype
