What would be the advantage to weaken the loft on a club by 1-2 degrees vs. strengthening it? Offset and bounce?

I play 54 and 60 deg wedge and love it. I've never liked a 58 deg. Gapping is usually in a 4-6 degree window so you don't follow a certain pattern if it doesn't work for you.
