  1. Comparison pics - 7 iron of the ai150 vs Apex Pro 24 (in plastic) and Apex Pro Smoke 19. I do not have any Apex Pro 21 after a trading them in months ago. It’s been great reading through this thread and others threads regarding the ai150. This really helped me feel good about this iron change. My ai150’s arrived tonight, but I have not hit them yet. I placed my custom order (shafts/grips) on Saturday around 11 pm and they arrived Tuesday evening in NC. My most recent sets have been the Apex Pro 19 & 21 and Apex Pro 24. The ai200 just never suited me and I was happy with my Pro 21 at that time. The Apex Pro 21 was my favorite of the group listed above. This set was heavily gamed plus lessons so I traded them in for the Pro 24. I really wanted to like/keep the Pro 24, but I grew frustrated with them over time. So, I traded in my Apex Pro 24 for the ai150 since I would hit these shots that felt good, flying at the proper trajectory and then at times they would come up 5-10 yards short of my landing area. I was just getting punished at times for a lower toe side of center strike. The Pro 24 seemed to lack contact feedback vs my past sets. I was regularly looking for contact marks to figure out what took place. I believe/know it was yes me and my switch to MMT 90s/85r with the Pro 24 vs being use to playing UST Recoil Smacwraps 780 F4. I tried both MMT shafts in the Pro 24 to give it a good run, but I said enough. So, I went back to UST Recoils HDC 80s in the ai150 after speaking with UST. The HDC’s are a bit lighter than I am use too, but not overly. Plus, I hit this combo at my local builder’s place about a week ago. My preferred 780 shaft is not on the custom list was the my dilemma. So far, the ai150 reminds me of the backside of the Pro 21 (thicker than 24 in lower section), has a similar top line/face of Pro 24 and the soles all vary a bit. I believe this set will be a nice tweener between the Pro 21 and Pro 24 for me. Time will tell though. ai150 is the shiny head and not in plastic.
  2. Been playing the Elyte Mini 13.5* with GD Tour AD XC 6s or DI 6x stock length in S/N for 8 rounds and few range sessions now. I took the driver out of the bag to force me to play it the past few weeks. This just was to give this setup a good opportunity. For me, this set up is very easy to hit, not an huge distance lose compared to driver and I am able hit different shapes/heights as needed from the tee box. I tee it up a bit higher than a fairway metal and can tee it up a bit higher if I really want to launch it. With this set up my big misses are rare or the miss is not as bad. I was looking for a trusted club from the tee box when the driver swing was not cooperating and wanting to hit something with a bigger face than my OG Apex UW 17* from the tee as a 2nd option. So far, I have been extremely pleased with this setup. Random people I play ask a lot of questions since it is long and they like the sound. Reminds me when I started playing the Apex UW’s when they were released a few years ago. This mini setup has been a great addition for my club selection on any given weekend and confidence from the tee box.
