I've tried both a mini driver and shortening the shaft on a conventional 460cc driver. The problem with the latter to me is that the bigger head on a shorter shaft just feels unbalanced. It's like I'm standing too close to a huge club head. Ha, maybe that's just a psychological reason, but I like that the mini driver feels like a nice compromise.

I had a nice second set of clubs that my wife talked me into trading in earlier this year. Her argument was that they were taking of space and not getting much use (fair). My argument was "who knows when someone needs to borrow a set?" I finally relented; but now we have a friend coming to stay with us next week and he's not flying with his clubs, so I'm bumming a rental set from another friend. Ugh!
