Wanted to say “have one in the bag” but that’s not correct, I have one in the club house locker for almost a year now. It’s fun to hit it on the range, but I hit driver everywhere so no need for a “safe” club. Only reason would be a long par 3, but I think it can’t reach anyway so: stays in the locker.

Trackman showed same results as on course. Hybrid is 2-20 yards longer, spin is 500-1000 lower. How much wrong am i hitting my 3 wood if it spins up to 3500? 😅 Swing speed was about 95-100 mph, attac angle 0, club path between 0 and 2, face to path also between 0 and 2. I’d say I hit both clubs good and almost the same, so very low on ideas what I’m doing wrong. Or is it - as always - the clubs fault?

Bought those two off a demo rack after Qi35 came out. 3hybrid was an absolute weapon, and I‘m improving in my swing quite a lot in the last couple of months so I‘ve learned how to hit a wood as well. But it’s driving me crazy, that it isn’t at least same length or even longer as the 3hybrid. I can hit the hybrid up to 235 if the conditions are right, but I couldn’t do that with the 3wood even to save my life. Had two today, absolute center face, straight flight, felt good, started good, but at some point they start rising and fall down like a rock. Tried Pro V1, TP5x and Velocitys, all the same. My best guess is that the 3wood spins too much. Both have the blue Ventus stock shaft in stiff. Anybody with similar experience? Can it really be the shaft or is it just me who sucks?

Haha 😂 Putter is still awesome. Could still use a few more grams, but I think it will be be fine once I swap the 10g weights for the 16g. I don’t know what exactly it is, but I feel waaaaay more confident at address compared to everything I had before. And I don’t understand why I‘ve tried to make the Scotty work in the last couple of months. That couldn’t end well with the stock grip…

This added 18g per side and feels waaaaay better now. Will swap the 10g weights for 16g, should be fine then.

haha, I have the same problem. I‘ll cast some custom lead weights for my Tour X Proto soon, will keep you posted.

Okay, here we go. Shaft extension arrived today, Super Stroke Tour 2.0 XL Spider black edition and 50g counter weight yesterday. Had to grind down the shaft extension on both sides a bit + the counter weight to fit into the shaft extension. Finished at 2 pm and had a tee time at 3. I never felt so much love for a putter before. Had a 15 footer for par on 2 and told him: “If you make it, you’re gonna come with me on the 5 day boys trip next week”. Center cup. The head feels a little bit light at the moment, but this will definitely be fixed by adding some grams. Will start with 40 and see how it goes. I’m glad I didn’t sell it and I’m also glad I did the putter fitting where long design / counter weighted showed better results. The Scotty helped me to start my LD/CB journey and I understand why people play and/or love a Scotty, but I’m now pretty sure I’m not a Scotty guy. Got it with a good discount and should be able to sell it for the same price.

Yeah, but it seems like you are able to have good days with your driver which means you know how to hit a driver. A friend of mine NEVER had a good day with his driver, bought a mini and thought it will solve all his problems. Surprise: it didn’t.

Long story short: if you can’t hit a driver constantly good, you can’t hit a mini driver constantly good.

Yes and no. Let’s assume, the stock Scotty Long Design off the rack is „optimized“ regarding a specific swing weight. The grip is 128 grams, 38“ shaft + head are 533 grams. If I build another putter with a 38“ shaft and 533 grams total weight, I‘m quite sure the swing weight will be damn close to the stock Scotty where they‘ve put a ton of research into. IF there’s a difference, it will mostly come from a minimal deviation in the shaft weight. And I‘m guessing, I‘m not even close to be good enough to feel a difference there… The grip is clear, 77g Superstroke Tour 2.0 XL + 50 grams Superstroke counter weight mounted directly into the weight port at the end.

I‘ll do +3“ on a spider next week to make it counterbalanced, not worried at all. And after talking to my putter fitter, I‘m not even gonna glue the extension in to the shaft. Just take one thicker as necessary and sand it down until perfect fit. Tape over it, grip on, and let it roll.

Di you have an idea how he would fix the weight? My idea is to change the weights to 2x 16 (which adds 12) and so I have about 46 grams left compared to the Scotty. For this I might glue a piece of lead weight in the hole in the back since I don’t have a better idea.
