A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a 2, 3, & 4 woods off of the 'bay. Sole plate says MacGregor Tourney with the club number, Oil hardened 693T stamped into the wood of the sole, and Clarence Doser signature stamped into the top of the club. My question is this: What, if any, is the difference between a 693 and 693T? Anyone have any insights?

I have approximately 18 full bag set ups and a barrel of assorted putters, irons, and woods... so, yes, that particular bug bites HARD! haha My top 4 that I refuse to get rid of (at the moment) are: 1985 Palmer 'The Standard 85' 1969 MacGregor MT Tourney TR3A 1966 Wilson Staff Dynapower Fluid Feel 1977 Walter Hagen Ultra I'm still not 100% loving these Hagen Ultras. They are absolutely beautiful but a few bad rounds have made me question their commitment to the team. They are currently in 'time out' in the dark corner of my shop for their recent behavior. The other 3 are absolutely FANTABULOUS!

Those grips don't appear to be in bad shape, so I would give them a good cleaning with warm water and a small amount of mild soap, then rub them down with Mink Oil. Let that sit for a couple of hours and then wipe it clean 2-3 times to remove all excess. The oil will penetrate the grips and make them nice and serviceable again. Welcome to the party!

To be honest, I have never even thought about it. I love the way it looks currently. That is part of what drew me to it I admit it would look great in a raw finish, so I may have to get a second set just to do that!
