Reading some other threads on playing sr or softer flex in general got me to start messing around hitting my dad’s driver with a senior flex ust helium and it is fun to tinker with. I enjoy the feel and ease of swinging but don’t know that it really matches my natural rhythm and timing. I have to swing too easy to get the accuracy I would want on course. When it aligns its bombs away. Definitely longer than my current set up with far less work.
I avg 105-108 and typically play and fit into some variant of a mid/mid profile in s flex in 60g range. Prefer playing a soft fade with driver. I have tried regular flex and like the feel but haven’t spent enough time trying to get used to it. Normally in testing I would hit some great shots and see a couple left balls in a row and set it aside thinking nope it has to be the flex.
This whole idea got me thinking about different profiles in softer flexes. For example I normally wouldn’t play a lower launch shaft because it’s not what I would “fit” into and normally feels like too much work to swing. I like some feel in the shaft but I have never tried a regular or sr flex in say a traditional lower launch “whiteboard”type profile. Can’t recall even seeing them that often in a softer flex to test for that matter.
Curious if anyone has tinkered with this and what they saw/ felt? Better accuracy with more feel/ easier to swing?
