I’ve made a bit of a mess of my grip setup and am looking to return to stock (as it were). I’m hoping the club build wizards here can help! I currently game:
Driver, 3w, 3h, each of which came stock with Lamkin ST+2 (or very similar), but currently have a midsize CPX +1 layer of tape
Utility iron from factory with a midsize CPX +1 layer of tape
5-GW JPX923 forged which were stock tour velvets, but now have midsize CPX +1 layer of tape
Cleveland RTZ wedges from factory with a midsize CPX +1 layer of tape.
I think I have messed up in 2 places: 1) the CPX is dreadful for adjustable hosels as the texture varies dramatically around the grip, and 2) I’m fairly sure the difference between a tour velvet and the CPX will have affected the SW of the clubs I’ve retrofitted. I use Arccos sensors as well (although they’ll be replaced with Shot Scope when my subscription ends) if that’s a relevant factor.
I have a lingering injury on my left hand which benefits massively from a soft grip to absorb shock and that I can’t grip too hard. On top of this, I have a tendency to draw/hook, but find a +4 profile helps control this.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a grip that I could retrofit across my clubs. I think I’m looking for:
Soft texture
360 style
+4 or less taper
in the region of 50g (for those clubs that came with a CPX, I assume there’s no problem with just adding 10g lead tape under the grip to maintain overall mass?).
Does anyone know of such a grip? The closest I can find is the Winn Dri Tac LT, but it’s not a true 360 style.
Thanks!
