  1. It's certainly TV rights - but Grant is taking the stance that if they want in on the youtube creator space, they need to change the way tv deals are made going forward. Which they will.
  2. Won't watch some guys play some golf and have some fun but watched 6 seasons of some made up fat guy shoot people and eat sandwiches. Like thats any better.
  3. Sure but that exactly proves why its going to be important for the tour to find new ways to grow. They need to find a way to cater to the next generation and wether the olds like it or not, youtube and short form content is the answer.
  4. Which is why its laughable - viewership of the sport has been so bad that a 7 year high would put it at a less average day 20 years ago.
  5. Highest in years is laughable. This years masters was under 13m final day viewership - which would put it well below most of the last 25 years. Sure its been going up a bit slightly over the last few years but to think that the content creation space hasn't carried that water is ridiculous.
  6. 1. Without Bryson LIV would have already been packed up 2. It's not about views for his events, its about views for the sport and specifically in this case the tour. Grant's ability to get people's eyes on Golf right now is extremely important to the tour wether you guys want to acknowledge it or not.
  7. Do you really not understand how the Tour benefits from more viewership? Take a guess at what happens to the TV deals when the sports viewership goes down. It's so simple that I would venture to say you will see these restrictions be lifted in the next 2-3 years. The only reason the tour isn't allowing it right now is the TV deal likely prohibits it and they couldn't come to an agreement.
  8. From a business perspective he would see very little benefit from this. The tour essentially gave him a low ball offer because they know he would love to play a tour event. Grant's betting on himself and the content creation space that holding out against the tour will provide more leverage in future negotiation. It's really not the hard to understand.
  9. Because that single youtube video will do more viewership than the entire tournament. The whole reason for the exemption is to get eyes on a historically low-viewership event. Without Grant being able to film he has very little to gain for his business while the Tour has everything to gain. If I'm Grant, its a bad business decision and not a precedent I want to set for future collaborations.
  10. Cool to actually see someone get fit into the launch spec! Did this video not go through a color grading process? The raw footage looks pretty bad on this one.
  11. Complaining about it will absolutely do something. As the YT space grows the Tour is going to want in on that market share. We've already seen them lift previous restrictions when it comes to content creation and they even have a "Content Creator Council" now.
  12. I agree this feels like a strategic decision. He is the biggest name in a space that the tour is clearly trying to make its way into more. I think Grant (along with other large creators) is trying to chip away at some of the rules/regulations that limit creators.
  13. Admission that he cares about his business and livelihood more than golf itself? I think he falls in line with 99% of the population there.
  14. Very similar experience for me. Coming from super GI irons I figured the t250 would be the best fit but the t150 turf interaction and strike was just better for me. Also settled for the AMT white over the DG because they felt similar and wasn't worth the upcharge imo. I didn't do any loft bending but may end up bending 1 deg weak at some point. New set: T250 5-6 (+1/4in, 2 deg upright) T150 7-GW (+1/4in, 2 deg upright) AMT White Ordered 07/07 and delivery is set for tomorrow.
