I picked up a Newport Beach 1.5 that can use some love so I am planning on sending it off to get refinished. Firstly, based on the pics below, do you think the condition is adequate for a resto from the Scotty Shop? I’ve heard of putters being denied, some that I thought didn’t look too bad. (See images below) Secondly, I’m torn between Scotty’s Custom Shop and Embrace Putters. I plan to game the putter, so not necessarily thinking of long term value too much, but being that NP Beach putters are scarce, it may be best to stick with Scotty. I would probably go with the Torched Chromatic Bronze finish with army green/ black color scheme for paint fill if I went with Embrace. https://embraceputters.com/pages/putter-finish-options If I go with Scotty’s Shop, I am thinking of doing a light blue, white and minimal Black color scheme on the natural silver color. I love the all black matador grip which is only accessible through his shop (unless I risk getting a fake one or pay up off of eBay). I also like the idea of getting it refinished by the pros at SC who created the putter. What are your thoughts on this/ experience with these companies? Also, I’m torn on which colors to put where for the paint fill, so any insight or photoshopping to provide some help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Only one model was 2020, the rest were 2000-2004. Moderators could move to the correct location if this is incorrect. I appreciate all the responses thus far though! I’m surprised by the nods against Cameron’s so far. I have actually liked the 330 g weight of the studio stainless and Newport Beach surprisingly. The 2020 special select feels much heavier.

I know there have been other posts like this in the past, but I wanted to spark up some conversations and interest in this modern era. I just got into the Scotty game not long ago and I have now purchased 4 of them (it’s a slippery slope)- Studio Stainless Newport 2.5, Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5, 2000 Pro Platinum Mid Slant and 2020 Special Select. So far, my favorite is the Studio Stainless Newport 2.5 with Mid-size Matador grip. The Newport Beach 1.5 I plan to send off to the Scotty Shop for a touch up, but my initial impressions are overall good, but perhaps it sounds a little pingy to me with the sound slot (I just got it so I am undecided on it so far). These are the first flow necks I’ve ever played and albeit a small sample size, I have to say I prefer them so far over a plumbers neck or mid slant so far. What is your favorite Scotty and why?
