I picked up a Newport Beach 1.5 that can use some love so I am planning on sending it off to get refinished.
Firstly,
based on the pics below, do you think the condition is adequate for a resto from the Scotty Shop? I’ve heard of putters being denied, some that I thought didn’t look too bad. (See images below)
Secondly,
I’m torn between Scotty’s Custom Shop and Embrace Putters. I plan to game the putter, so not necessarily thinking of long term value too much, but being that NP Beach putters are scarce, it may be best to stick with Scotty. I would probably go with the Torched Chromatic Bronze finish with army green/ black color scheme for paint fill if I went with Embrace. https://embraceputters.com/pages/putter-finish-options
If I go with Scotty’s Shop, I am thinking of doing a light blue, white and minimal Black color scheme on the natural silver color. I love the all black matador grip which is only accessible through his shop (unless I risk getting a fake one or pay up off of eBay). I also like the idea of getting it refinished by the pros at SC who created the putter.
What are your thoughts on this/ experience with these companies?
Also, I’m torn on which colors to put where for the paint fill, so any insight or photoshopping to provide some help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
