ordering through the peoples clubs, payment question
dubg replied to dubg's topic in Deal or No Deal?
all the information is good. it is their email, we talked for weeks about this order and specs back and forth and I voiced my concerns about many things and he has been great through email talking me through the process. it is not as if he's asking for random gift cards to be purchased and then sent to him, just to go on this website and purchase the amount this build is in gift cards for payment (which I did) and that it will keep all of my information on my account so they can send updates of the build as well as tracking info when that time comes. he talked me through 1 or 2 different options of payment as well and they are trying to work on software for a work around when these builds are ordered through email and specs of build are discussed over email but for right now these are the options. ive never seen a bad review and so far from my experience the CS has been fantastic and all my question and concerns have been answered and someone else said this is how he had one transaction with the peoples clubs and nothing to worry about so hopefully in 4-6 weeks I will message you for that mortgage payment to be sent to me :))) lol only time will truly tell I guess -
ordering through the peoples clubs, payment question

it was their company email on the website. we talked for a few weeks over email about this order and I think its 1) easier on their end to have a custom order be purchased this way when discussed over email for a few weeks and 2) he explained this way they will have my info on their back end of the order so I can get updates and tracking info when that time arrives. -

I did go through with it. he did explain the whole situation over email and the reasons why and they are working on a work around for orders discussed and purchased through email. it is nice that he gave me the time of day to voice my concerns and explained things in detail, really good CS from him. glad to hear you had this situation for me to be hopeful it will work out just fine and there's nothing to be concerned about thanks mate -
ordering through the peoples clubs, payment question
dubg replied to dubg's topic in Deal or No Deal?
he did say I can also pay through pay pal and he can send an invoice or he can have someone call me to place the order through the phone. but if I went on the website and did the gift cards through the website he said it would keep all my info on the back end on his side so he has info to give me updates and send tracking info when that time comes. everyone has said great things about this company so I have hope im not being scammed. he did also mention he understands me being skeptical and they are working on a new system in order to fix this situation for future builds. I dont think payment options would be this way if we hadn't been back and forth for weeks about club build specs and all that information through email. I guess time will tell we will see -
ordering through the peoples clubs, payment question

yes, we've had back and forth emails for the past few weeks now about this new club build and all specs sent through email so he said in order to keep the specs that ive sent and he can get started on the build to just do the payment through gift cards on the website. I have heard nothing but good reviews and yes im a bit skeptical but I trust that he's not just taking my money and he said I could pay through different methods but this way he will have all the shipping info and my information so that he can send updates and tracking updates. it is strange to me as someone else said any payment being in gift cards is usually a scam so im still a bit nervous about the purchase but everything he explained makes sense so im trusting him and hopefully it isn't a big waste of money. I guess only time will tell -
this is a first for me ordering a custom built set of irons. chatted through email with the peoples clubs a ton and have my specs and all the club info for order. now its time to order and the email says since all the specs are here in the email, use this like and grab the amount of money the irons will cost in gift cards off the link sent. that way they have shipping information in the backend and can quickly and easily send tracking and updates on the build. ive never ordered from a custom builder let alone the peoples clubs although they have great reviews im a little skeptical of this payment method of just buying a certain dollar amount of gift cards without an invoice for the specific order, I dont know something seems a bit off here. anyone have any experience like this with the peoples clubs to reassure me about this order? it isn't cheap and ive heard great things im just a touch skeptical about this payment method but maybe its nothing I need to be concerned about

isn't it not recommended to tip a taper shaft?

this is actually more helpful than you may think. the perspective of I dont know any better and either option has slight risks if you will so choose one and if it doesnt work out then I learned something in the process. thats helpful. so for now I will stick with the x100 8i shaft in my wedges and if that feels too soft over the course of testing when they arrive I will re shaft them and I will have learned something new about how I perceive the shaft to feel. I understand this is probably a topic that is so subjective you may be tired of answering these questions but do appreciate the time to get someone else's point of view, so thank you for contributing Stuart 🙂

the label on my current wedges is s200 although its nearly pealed all the way off lol but its still there. I know this whole gear situation especially something like wedges when it comes to bounce/grind and even shaft and shaft length is so unique to the individual. I appreciate the feedback. I just hate the idea of ordering a set of clubs and having to possibly re shaft them to get the right fit of shaft. then if that one actually doesnt work out better reshaft again to go back to the previous shaft. this is why initially I mentioned im gunna take the in between of both worlds and order x100 8 iron shafts for my wedges so it will be firmer than the s400 in theory but more feel than x100 straight in. now im questioning if I should just keep it even more simple and do x100 straight all the way through and stop overthinking this. I hate to message the builder one last time with one last change ya know edit: simply put. do you think there is enough of a difference to order 1xss x100 over standard x100 for wedges. from a data point of view not a anecdotal personal experience perspective

the only reason to think I need a middle ground is a lot of conversation around the x100 being to stout for wedges on partial shots and finesse shots. I think it's tough for me to decide on which one to go with as ive never had anything in wedges but s200 because I always bought off the shelf. I do understand only so much can be said to me about the topic and at the end of the day I need to get one in my new wedges and test and see how it plays out. my though is that the x100 is a solid shaft for me in my irons and if I soft step the x100 (8iron shaft) into my wedges I can have a very similar feel to my irons with a touch more feel than the x100 straight in. I know my weakness with any thought or conversation around gear is getting too deep into the weeds and nuances surrounding these things and frankly I think if I have the x100 straight in or soft stepped I dont think it will change all that much for me and I will make either work. I am just a bit of a perfectionist and for the money of new golf clubs and gear I want to make sure it's as perfect of a fit as it can be. I dont have the luxury of testing different shafts in wedges before I purchase unfortunately so im trying to ask questions and grow my knowledge so I can make the best informed decision and not just "this one works for irons so it must work for wedges" ya know. hopefully these next few months I can get some club building equipment and start that journey so I can actually pull shafts and test these differences side by side but thats not until the coming months

would you say a soft stepped x100 into wedges is a good middle ground? an 8 iron x100 shaft into wedges? or is that difference negligable
-
gotcha, ive never heard of this grip before... guess I have a new rabbit hole to go down haha
-
gotcha yea im less thinking about the x100 soft stepped as a realistic option. more so the x100 straight in or the s400 straight in. it for sure is the softer flex of the shaft, all the weights are very similar im not sure id notice 2gram weight difference in shafts. but it is difficult to time the s200 shaft I currently use and if I give it anything close to a 3/4 swing It just launches so high and I can't control distance with them. so my though is to go s400 straight into wedges although ive seen a lot of people like to play their iron shaft into wedges. again I have no experience with anything other than s200 in wedges so im trying to extrapolate generalized data to make an educated decision without being able to test both of these options before hand. I think I mentioned in the post but I think either s400 or x100 in wedges is going to a be a big upgrade from where im at, I dont think either will necessarily be wrong

I plan on PW 35.75" then GW,SW,LW all 35.5". this is also a first for me to not have standard progression but I find LW at 35" is too short for my natural address and if anything I can always trim .25" which is still slightly above standard. you tip your wedges? not soft step the same iron shaft rather make that same iron shaft stiffer for wedges?
-
DGTI X100 in irons, thinking either S400 in wedges or soft stepped 2x X100 in wedges. my thoughts are the added weight of the S400 in wedges would be good. likewise the same profile of X100 from irons to wedges but just an extra 1/2 flex softer in wedges is also a good option. for reference I have nothing to go off other than always playing a stock s200 wedge shaft and I absolutely hate it. anything more than just a partial swing balloons and I would expect that shot to have more spin but it lacks spin. I digress.... what do you play in wedge shafts compared to irons and from what I have mentioned im assuming its really just a get one a try it out as I have nothing else to go off. id like to spare re-shafting my wedges to test the other shaft and possibly having to re shaft again to go back to the first shaft so just wanted to ask and see others experience and see if I can judge my answer based on what others may have experienced. I like a penetrating flighted wedge shot where I can count on the spin to hold up and check
