  1. This is great advice. What are your thoughts on flex? I was fitted for stiff in the Ventus for my woods but regular for the C-Taper lite in the irons due to my fairly quick tempo. Feels like this club would be more like a wood and therefore stiff but want to make sure what others suggest first.
  2. About to pull the trigger on a TM P UDI in either 2i or 3i mainly for a fairway finder. Hit both P UDI & P DHY and it was night and day numbers and dispersion wise in favor of the former. I currently have Ventus blue 6S in my 3 wood and 5 wood, and I have KBS C-taper lite regulars in my 5i-AW. I like both a lot. Should I go with a Ventus blue or a similar KBS steel shaft? Weight and flex recommendations for either? I have always tended to have an apex higher than most of the people with whom I play, so a little nervous about a hybrid style shaft. Appreciate any and all recommendations.
  3. Thanks for the advice! I have never been able to hit hybrids well. They provide either rope hooks or high slices and never go down the middle for me. More successful with irons and woods. I’ll take a look at the TaylorMade Tour 7 wood since I am a very loyal TM player.
  4. I’m not as concerned about gapping here as I am finding a club for tee shots where I stay in play deep enough down the fairway for legitimate opportunities to reach the green. If it were to be in that 19-20 degree zone it would be a nice option when needed. Thanks for the response!
  5. That’s great advice. I really want something to hit off the tee on shorter par 4s where I need accuracy more than distance. I play on a bunch of courses in Florida with tighter fairways and a bunch of bunkering bordering them. I am fairly accurate with my 3 and 5 woods but I hit a pretty high ball already and was looking for something to drive into a lower window that could run for a longer distance when I don’t need it to stop on a green. Could possibly use the same club on longer par 5s for my second when I am 300+ yards out. Because of my successful use of a graphite-shafted 2-iron in the past (which had 19 degrees of loft in the late 90s), I was entertaining the idea of having a club especially for that need since I have a spot open in the bag. I’m also not in my late 20s anymore so swing speed may be an issue as stated. Appreciate the perspective and look forward to seeing more responses as I’m sure there are others in a similar situation.
  6. Former mid-handicapper getting it back down again in my 50s after 15 years of layoff due to career and younger family. Now playing with my sons and have the golf bug fully biting like the old days. Due to age and dramatic technological advances, I recently refreshed my bag with the following: TM Qi35 Max 9* turned up to 10.5* - Ventus Blue 2025 Stiff TM Qi35 Max 15* - Ventus Blue FW 6 2025 Stiff TM Qi35 Max 18.5* - Ventus Blue FW 6 2025 Stiff TM Qi (5-AW) - KBS C-Taper Lite Regular TM MG4 54.13 & 58.12 - KBS C-Taper Lite Stiff TM Spider Tour X Short Slant 34” SuperStroke Pistol 1.0 Grips: Golf Pride MCC +4 Align Blk/Grey MID Thinking I should add a club to the top of the bag to help gain some consistency and accuracy when tee shots demand it. Not sure if that means a mini driver, utility iron, or long iron from the P series or Qi irons. I absolutely cannot hit hybrids and was told it is due to my quicker tempo and steep swing angle. I used to play a 2-iron stinger as my fairway finder so thinking a P UDI or P DHY might be a good option. With the Qi 5 iron at 21 degrees and the Qi35 5 wood at 18.5 degrees, should I try to thread the needle with something in the 19-20 area or should that not factor? Also, my swing speeds on my irons are in the 75-82 mph range and have heard the P UDI is better for low-handicappers with high swing speeds. Furthermore, if I were to go in the utility iron direction, should I try a graphite shaft similar to my woods or a steel shaft similar to my irons? I welcome all thoughts and suggestions.
