  1. Same Q, trying to find a good price on a driving iron, see some heads only for sale on the bay.
  2. I have a long commute, so I picked up a cheap Lexus CT200h that had been overhauled by the local Lexus dealer. Currently has 177k miles and runs like a top. Small, but a hatchback, and my clubs do fit without taking the woods out. I've been lucky to fit my clubs in every car I've owned - even my old NA Miata. Carrying a Sunday bag helps as stand mechanisms take up space 🙂
  3. I'm just south of SF about a 6 iron from the beach but with my house up on a bit of a hill and plenty of breakwater between me and the ocean, staying up tonight while the wife and kid are in bed. I retired from the Coast Guard last year so fortunately I have a buddy passing me the text alerts he's getting. Right now it's still just an advisory, not a warning - there's a tsunami siren about 100 feet from the house so if it goes off we'll book it up the hill.
  4. The only thing better than playing golf, is playing golf again after a long time away... I'm back in the craze after almost 4 years away, since having our kiddo and moving, and now the finances have improved to where I can start rebuilding my bag as well... have fun!! It's a sickness and we're all in it together!
  5. I walked with Adam as a scorekeeper in Puerto Rico a few years ago and he was playing the same irons then, I commented that I was also playing i210s at the time. He's a nice guy and I enjoy watching him play!
  6. I had an iCrossover 2 iron a few years ago and really liked it. I sold it when I needed cash for a new baby and buying a house - been looking at getting another - taking a look around at other options that might fit the budget a bit better now.
  7. Sure wish the new utility irons were available now. The pak version looks pretty great for $80. I'm in the market for a driving iron again and the prices for name brand clubs are pretty up there. Even used beat up driving irons are $180.
  8. I just had my TE+ and TS4 DBM combo set built with $30 graphite shafts and the total was less than $800 including shipping and tax. The TS4 are honestly so easy to hit I could have gone TS4 through the set. I am really stoked on them, and I keep daydreaming about building another set in satin. I've got 2 rounds with them and my miss has been long. I need to get used to taking one less club. Not a bad thing for me 🙂
  9. I played my 2nd round with my combo set yesterday and struck the irons decent, and my miss was consistently long. Went over the green multiple times. Need to get used to clubbing down!
  10. Don't change anything, and give us dark mode. That's the way forward 😁
  11. Nothing to contribute to your search, but those look really nice, and cool head covers, I bet those are worth some money on their own. I remember when Sonartec hybrids were THE club to have, although I never sought one out myself, I usually had an Adams in the bag back then.
  12. I asked about this in the big TS2 thread. Based on the advice I got there I built a TE+ 5-7 and TS4 8-GW combo set and couldn't be happier.
  13. Yeah you have to just write it in the comments for the order. I did that with my set I just got 2 weeks ago because I read about this happening.
  14. Unfortunately that is the way Golfworks builds all clubs. You have to request logo down. You aren't the first to be caught out like this and IMO it's the wrong thing for them to do and understandably frustrating. I would call and complain, politely.
  15. 3 years to go for me. Spent a lotta time here off and on over the past 17 years!
  16. Imagine shooting a bogey-free nine under par round on Thursday and not even leading... Man these guys are good.
  17. So one good round down and 3 range sessions, this morning's off the grass tees, and I am just head over heels for these irons. I am so impressed by the way the Aldila NV graphite shafts are working for my swing, the irons feel perfectly balanced (any concern I had over swingweight etc. with graphite shafts was unfounded). Even love the grips so much I bought another 10 to outfit the rest of my clubs and have some spares. I had a couple of new swing feels, working on some self-diagnosed early extension after going down a TPI video rabbit hole and holy cow. Don't think I've ever smoked a 9iron so hard in my life. These irons just feel fantastic, nice solid thump, great turf interaction. They're just the real deal!! This thread is a real gem, so many golfers have found great clubs, built to their specs with premium shafts, for WAY less than the big names. I hope more future playing partners ask about them so I can help spread the gospel. The Maltby name/brand may not be sexy but these clubs rule.
  18. I still have a G/9/7/5 set of OG DBMs that I built for a short set years ago, I think I'm going to give them to the local First Tee. The TS4s and TE+ are fantastic and make a great blended set, either would make a great set on its own and likely just about as forgiving as the other. I came into this looking at the TS3s and would still consider trying them out. Honstly all these heads seem to be so good, and I think they look so much better than any of the other DTC brands (Sub 70, etc)
  19. Not totally relevant to the putters, but I played a round Saturday with my custom Edel EAS 4.0 that I had fit a few years ago and ended in the exact same specs as Kevin Burns recommended for the new putter from him (72°, 34"). I used the setup and stroke keys that he had me working on during our fitting and rolled the ball great with a lot of confidence. I will have to think about it, but I don't think I had any 3-putts and holed a nice long breaking 20-footer for a bird. 🙂
  20. Nice first round with the new combo set, they feel great! I struck them well and my one toe strike still ended up front fringe. Lots of great shots once I got the blocks worked out of my rusty swing. Playing partner asked what they were, said they look great and was surprised at the low price I quoted.
  21. I still have the old Bubba Watson Ping visor.. they never really went away, maybe just hibernated. The big tour visors are great.
  22. Showed up a few minutes early and was greeted at the door by KB and his dog 🙂 he was friendly and we got to chatting right away. Luckily I had one of my putters with me to get started - I don't really have a gamer right now since I haven't been playing much, but we discussed my history a little bit. He watched me make a couple of strokes and immediately had some feedback for me on my setup and stroke. The fitting was mostly a setup and putting lesson, and I would say that Kevin has an idea of what he'd like to see from someone - a modern stroke, relaxed and over the ball, well connected, no hands, quite different from what I've been doing which is a more upright handsy Stan Utley stroke that is honestly pretty inconsistent with poor contact. I am open to changing what I do to make more putts, so I didn't offer much resistance to his coaching, not sure how he would work with someone who is very set on their style, but from some of his stories I am sure he could offer some useful advice to just about anyone. After discussing what I like the look and feel of we got me set up with a 9306 2.0, naked, 34" and 72° with standard face and everything else standard. Putters are all milled and built to order so I expect about 3 weeks. He did tell me his operation is moving to AZ in the next couple of months (I think Scottsdale) so if you're out there be on the lookout and give him a visit when he's ready!
  23. Randomly decided to go in for a fitting at HQ today, will update later on with results 🙂
