Taylormade Tour Preferred CB/MC compared to RBZ Tours.

Has anyone done a comparison of the new Tour Preferred Irons to last years RBZ Tours. I just picked up a brand new RBZ Tours 3-PW on the cheap and I love them. Now my Dad wants a new set of irons but we haven't really been able to do a comparison of the different clubs, and we would like to know if the extra few hundred dollars is worth it. From what I have looked at and read it almost seems that the MC's are more comparable to the RBZ tours than the CB's, though I would appreciate any feedback.

I owned the RBZ Tours last year and liked them but sold them. I tried Speedbladez after being fitted at a TM Performance Center but just could not get used to the offset. Returned them and replaced with a combo set of TM Tour Preferred combo set - 4 and 5 CB and 6-PW in MC with stock KB shafts. Love them! The feel and distance is great even on the cast 4-7 irons. The feel on the forged 8-P is excellent. IMO they are an improvement over the RBZ Tours and worth an upgrade

I think you will find the TP CB's are a closer comparison to the RBZ Tours. The MC's are definitely more of a players type iron, very workable and a smaller profile. Both are a great improvement over the RBZ's.

The new offerings are much much better. I'm actually surprised at how large the profile of the MC's are.

Are the new TP irons really that good? Last year everyone was raving about the RBZ Tours. I can't find a bad review about them.

Now I have hit the RBZ Tours, CB's and MC's back to back and the only real difference I noticed was the sound and the CB's have more offset than the Tours and the Tours have slightly more than the MC's (hardly noticeable)...though I do play to around a 15 handicap.

Either way I will let my dad know that the new clubs are definitely worth the price of admission.

I tried them all and had the rbz tours. I sold the rbz tours after about 3 rounds and went back to mizuno. After hitting the tour preferred irons I was hooked. They are a solid set of irons and you can't go wrong with either set. The cb's are crazy long and very forgiving. The mc's are solid and a bit smaller than the cb's but still workable. I went with PW-8 in the mb's, 7-5 in the mc's and 3-4 in the cb's with x100 shafts and just love them. You can't go wrong with the tour preferred line.

I hit the CBs yesterday against my RBZ Tours in the sim yesterday. CBs were longer by almost a club with the stock shafts. I have C-Taper lites in my RBZs. The amount of offset difference is hardly noticeable between the two and I thought that was the only thing that would deter me from picking up the CBs today.
