Bryan Park is one of the best golf courses I have ever played for $50 on a Sunday morning. The Champions Course.

I live in Raleigh as well and generally play twice after work during the week and on weekends. I play River Ridge a lot since it is near my house and its only 22 to ride for their twilight rate. Greens are in good condition and its a pretty fun course.

June 15th, Father's Day, is probably my next weekend round. Me and my usual playing partner will be playing somewhere. Hopefully a course we haven't played yet. If you want to play, let me know.

I played Duke last week and it was in great shape. Obviously the rough for a lot of courses is still not in yet due to the long winter, but the champ Bermuda greens were quick.

For those in the Greensboro area, Forest Oaks is now semi-private and open for public play. We'll be playing this weekend.

They have the greens fee set almost equal to that of Bryan Park so we'll see what the condition is like.

I wish work wasnt busy so I could play more hooky and more golf in the mornings. I always get out in the afternoons during the week. Getting out of work early on Friday (3pm) and thinking of playing Falls Village. Its $25 to ride 18 and I played there last week and the course was in pretty good conidition. If anyone wants to join let me know.

Yes, and unfortunately for us members, the pace of play has slowed down accordingly. I hope they raise the rates for public play in order to keep some of the golfers away if they are the caliber of what I played behind Saturday. Typical of what you read about in the slow play threads. 30 yard dribble off the tee, 150 yard 3 wood to the fairway and then wait to hit 240 yard strongly uphill to the green over water. Needless to say, it went swimming. You get the picture.

[/quote]Oh no! Don't tell me that. Last year when we played, my regular foursome got around in just under 4 hours. Never rushed, never waited on anyone.

My wife and I were actually looking to join there before the bankruptcy issues started. I'm not sure what is going on now. Semi-private now I guess? The only downside is that we don't exactly live close (Battleground Avenue). As we start the home search, I think we'll focus on something closer to Forest Oaks so we can really get some use out of it.

The course layout was a lot of fun!
