what surprises you the most about this forum ?

First of all, this is a very well run forum offering loads of information . For that credit is due the forum owners and moderators, whomever they may be.

What i find most surprising about this forum is the large number of players who frequently change out their iron sets. I understand trying a number of drivers , and certainly putter changes, but iron sets ?

Please post here what you find most surprising about the member posts here at Golfwrx.

I haven't spent much time here but from what I can tell there are far less trolls than I experience on the car forums, for example bimmer forums.

There does seem to be a certain level of tolerance for unecessary nonsense here too, but nothing like on those sites.

How much money people spend on clubs, and I don't mean somebody buying a new set to use for 10 years, I'm talking the guys who buy new sets what seems to be weekly.

Comparing those golfers here on WRX vs. those out in the rest of the golf world, I cannot believe how many here change out Driver & Fairway Woods stock shafts for $200-$400 upgraded custom shafts.

Out in the rest of the golf world, most of them are barely aware of such a concept. Maybe they might buy a new driver once in awhile, and order it with an alternate available shaft. Both my Drivers-check, I'm guilty. When I bring it up on a course in random pairings - it's like....huh???

Based on my experience, I noticed everyone on this forum to be very mature and do not bash newbies.

I have learned so much in the last 12 months or so that I started to DIY my own clubs.

Most surprising thing is that moderator remembers exactly what you listed on BST forum. You will be suspended for 7 days if you re-list item within 30 days or list item without closing other BST thread within 24 hours.

What surprises me?... not much having been on this site for a while now (2007).

The one thing that irks me the most about his site is the overwhelming amount of posters who just can't help but write essays, and quote upward of 5 posts just to tell someone how wrong their OPINION is.

I wonder sometimes how much of the sensitivity is related to lack of context or tone...

I think an awful lot of the bickering is due to misreading tone....

I hit my blade 7i 190 easy and 210 if I really swing at it.

I have been slacking on my workouts though. I used to average 330 off the tee but I'm down to 310-320. Ive been too busy with going to the club, hanging with my boys, and hooking up with dimes all day.

3. After some time you realize who knows their stuff and it saves time/money looking/trying things.

4. The hilarious boasts of prodigious distances. ( why do these folks change clubs so much?) These people DO NOT play where I do.

5. I'm lucky. Not rich, but I can afford what I want. It boggles me the amount of money some seem to spend- Weekly, no hourly on clubs. Your money, your call. lol.

6. New product info. Man, before WRX you had to wait and look, wait and look... Now it's all right here.

5. Lack of females, I see a lot on course but I have yet to come across one on this site.

The fact that so many folks appear to be far too concerned with the distance other people hit their ball. Even to the point it has caused many arguments. We all would love to hit it 3 bills, but at the end of the day it is good to be thankful to be able to hit it at all. The thing that is not surprising is the number of good folks I have met in person or conversed with here in threads or pm's. I have found that in our seemingly crumbling society that there are still a lot of good folks left in the world and for that I am thankful.

The swing speeds some people claim to have here. When I feel like I am swinging out of my shoes and still don't break 100 mph, I wonder how the folks that claim 115-120 mph can maintain balance swinging like that.

I am also surprised at the access we have here to all of the people that work for the OEMs and the expert club builders out there.
