Loft Down - Wishon 919, 870, 771 (919 f/d comparison pics on page 5)

Last summer I purchased a 12* R11s in an attempt to 'loft up'. The result was an incredibly high ball flight, steep angle of descent and minimal roll-out. Generally the drives were not very long but they were relatively straight.

 

I've come to discover (though instruction and analysis) that my current set-up is a total mismatch and creating a whole host of issues. Essentially, I have a big-headed 5 wood in my hands.

 

I've grown tired of hitting my driver as far as my 5 wood. As a result I have contacted the Big K (AKA Kadin 25) and he has built me a custom Wishon 919 THI driver.

 

I eagerly anticipate the arrival of my new fairway finder and I'm looking forward to joining the big WRX bombers. 250 yards, here I come : )

Shaft: Wishon S2S White 67g Stiff

I also got excited and added a 19* 870 ti driving iron and a 771 cci 4 iron to my bag. I would like to purchase a full set of 771s (especially after reading Platoon’s thorough review) but my wife is standing in opposition. I purchased a set of Ping G25’s last year and she just isn’t buying my Wishon love . . . yet. She has stated, however, that I can be fit by Kadin if I take her on a road trip. Indiana here we come : )

Fair enough... I'm partial to gloss black crowns and deep faces. This thing looks a little busy but otherwise outstanding!

The 919 is long. Longest driver I've ever hit. Just not as forgiving as my G25.

My 919 is hand measured at 10° and I am certain the ping is 12°+. That explains the accuracy discrepancies. Both are high MOI clubs.

You should email Kadin for details, but it's very competitive with the "lower priced" drivers on the market (X2Hot, G25, Classic XL, Jetspeed)...those types. It will be less expensive then the higher end offerings for sure

A thought provoking film that will make you question how you are living each and every day. Also a real tear jerker at the end. A great date night flick for all you lovers out there. The 919 will join the 949 and 929 fairway woods that I already have in the bag. That big happy family of woods will then be joined by the 870 and 771 irons. I hope the 771 4 iron eventually gives birth to a full set of 771s. Who knows, maybe a few micro wedges will be conceived through legitimate means.

I'll tell you this, the photos don't do justice to the appearance of each head.

Here's a pic from outdoors that shows how sexy the 919 is.

Mine is 11* but handpicked to 10.5*/1* open with a Wishon S2S Red shaft and it's easily the longest, straightest driver I've every hit. The Bridgestone J33 was the only one that was as long but required firm fairways and lost a lot of distance on mishits. The 919 carries longer, still runs on landing and mishits loose very little distance.

Good to know. I just had my irons retro fitted an MOI matched but I keep coming back to the a Wishon photos. Tom recommended at fitter for me but I haven't had the chance to see him yet. This just gives me more motivation.

Kadin was kind enough to select a headcover that would match my Rocket Tour and Cru headcover sets. I am particularly fond of black/red colour schemes.
