Beautiful looking driver, reminds of the titleist T series from face on. I live in Sydney and we have a Wishon fitter here who I had an iron fitting session with, but unfortunately the finance minister won't release the funds to follow up on a purchase. If I had the spare cash I would get a driver fitting and go all Wishon. The level of technical expertise the fitter had was amazing.

Love the look of thw driver. Long hostel looks old school and playable. I could definitely get used to looking down at that. Hope you enjoy it.

I too like the classic shape of the head. The 919THI drivers are unique in that the head is designed with a pure titanium bendable hosel to allow a fitter to adjust the lie and face angle by up to 4*. This will be the first time in 17 years that I will actually know the true specs of a driver that's in my hands. I purchased a 16.5* 929hs from Kadin a few months ago and Tom personally checked the club specs before the head was shipped (I know because I have his name and signature on the club spec sheet). So impressed by the Wishon experience from start to finish. Kadin and Tom make a great team.

Beautiful looking clubs PD, driver is a keeper. What shaft are you having installed in it and how did you determine which was the best for you.
[/quote]Shaft: Wishon S2S White 67g Stiff
He was fitted for this shaft based on the following fitting parameters....
Swing Speed
Transition
Tempo
Release
Strength

Gbyeball,

Thank you for the kind words. I'm looking forward to establishing a relationship with my driver as this spot in the bag has been a rotating cavalcade for years. This 'archer' can now look down at the head in the address position and truly know that the 'arrow' is not the issue when the ball is going sideways.

Kadin had to breakdown some of my preconceived notions in order to get me into the correct set-up. There was a little trepidation initially as I've never played a driver with such low loft, and a stiff flex shaft. I've learned a great deal throughout the fitting process. 1) My swing characteristics are difficult to fit 'off the rack'. 2) Not all stiff shafts are created equal. 3) There's a huge difference being fit by a qualified professional club builder.

Does Wishon make a three wood with the same adjustability? I have struggled for years with three woods that are too long and too flat for me to make a proper pass at. Id love to be able to get into one that fits properly.

Great question: I purchased a 14* 949mc and a 16.5 929hs from Kadin. Both were hand selected, but the 929 is unique in the fact that it features an adjustable hosel similar to the 919. Also, weights can be added to the bore plugs in each head so that each can be built to varying lengths while maintaining the desired swingweight.

I put both in play at the end of the outdoor season and they have seen action indoors for the past 3 months. I am using the 949 almost exclusively off the tee (although it is relatively easy to hit off the deck) and 929 off the deck. The lie angle of the 929 was flattened to meet my individual needs and the shallow faced, split sole design gets the ball up in the air easily.

Here are the specs of the 929. Wish I would have found both clubs much earlier as I've struggled to find fairway woods that meet my needs.

I went to an almost all Wishon bag two seasons ago. Best decision I've ever made. I cracked the 919 short hosel head last year and Wishon replaced it with the long hosel model with exact same specs 9.5* 1/2* open. I put the same Talamonti shaft in and it seems to perform just a little bit different than the short hosel. I tipped the shaft a little bit when I installed it to take into account for the longer hosel, but the new head just seems to spin a bit more and higher launch. Maybe it's just in my head. I also picked up a new 949mc 3 wood to see if it will replace the 929. 929 is really easy to get up, but I think it's just a little to shallow faced for my swing.

I stumbled upon your WITB last night. Love the set-up. If I had the game I would be fit for a set of 575's above all else. Absolutely love the milling in that iron. My wife also loved your Christmas tree : )

I also initially struggled with the shallow face of the 929. Couldn't figure out how high to tee the club initially. A few pop ups later I realized it only needs to be elevated a smidge. The face height of the 949 is only a few millimeters taller, but it appears much bigger at address. Really like the shape and colour of both heads.

Sorry I didn't respond in due time ladies and gents. Just spent the last few hours holding my wife's hand as we watched the movie: About Time. A thought provoking film that will make you question how you are living each and every day. Also a real tear jerker at the end. A great date night flick for all you lovers out there. Just call me PD Ebert : )

Thank you MtlJeff for answered the price question, I couldn't have said it any better.

Kadin, I appreciate the address photos. If it's possible I am even more excited to put the driver into play.

I am about to receive wishon 560 irons and get fitted for 919. Second time for these clubs... this time they are going to stay in my bag.

PS - I saw About Time on a long flight and suggested it to my son who now has his own son. Really liked the movie a lot, a whole lot.

The 560s have recieved great feedback. I like that Tom's line doesn't change dramatically every year. Familiarity can be refreshing, especially if you find a product that gives you 100% confidence. I am at a point where I want to get off of the OEM carousel and commit myself to a line.

Here's the great part tembolo; I have faith that this driver is going to fit me when it arrives in the near future, but if the set-up is not 'spot on' Kadin will tweak the driver when I pay him a visit in the summer. I had taken 3 560's to India where i travel for work a lot, just to take to the range (5,6,7). It struck me on my last trip how fundamentally great these heads are. Same for the 919. I am weary of the endless trial and error. There is no question in my mind a club fitted and built from the ground up will perform best. So with now a long term trial of these, i know exactly what I am getting.

I'm sorry but you are wrong in making such a sweeping generalization about higher driver loft with softer flex shafts. This might be correct for YOU and your swing but it most certainly is not correct in general at all.

Higher loft drivers are correctly fit to golfers with slower clubhead speeds. Slower clubhead speeds do not generate as much backspin simply because of physics. Slower swing speeds usually need MORE spin to keep the ball in the air. So the higher loft helps them get not only to the higher launch angle they need for their slower speed, but it also generates a little more spin that they need to help keep the ball in the air to fly to a max carry distance - and if they also have a somewhat later release, the softer flex and or softer tip shaft also contributes to the spin required to keep the ball in the air to optimize their potential for distance.

The vast majority of titanium driver models today are manufactured through the 4 pc construction process - crown, sole/skirt, face and the hosel is the 4th piece. Since that means the hosel has to be welded on the head separately, what we did was to substitute using 6/4 titanium to make the hosel and we use one of the CP grades of pure titanium instead. CP stands for "commercially pure" which just means the titanium is non-alloyed. And that means it is softer, lower in strength, higher in ductility.

So we just picked the right CP grade which is plenty strong enough to never come close to damage or change in play, but ductile enough that with the right bending machine, the hosel can be bent to change the lie angle and the face angle. Bendability is just a smidge softer than a 431 stainless and a little firmer than a higher grade carbon steel. thus the reason we can bend any of these drivers with the CP grade hosel by +/-4* from the original design specs for the lie and face angle.

It is pretty cool to be able to do this to add a much wider range of "tweakability" in driver fitting that no other company can do. And with the 304 stainless hosels used on our 775 hybrid and 929 fwy wood models, that makes those other models able to also be bent +/-4 for lie and FA. It just takes being a tiny bit more switched on to metallurgical characteristics to open the door to broaden fitting options like this so it is more fun.

Kadin has sent teaser pictures of my completed 4 and 3 irons. The 771 is shafted with a Wishon S2S Superlite steel shaft, and the 870 is shafted with an S2S White graphite shaft.

The 919 and irons should be hitting the road in the very near future. I'll be sure to give an update when they arrive.
