equipment effects the swing

I am convinced that shaft choice effects a players swing.. In particular too stiff a shaft will promote over swinging and, or, going too hard at the ball.

Along the same line of thinking, too long a driver shaft requires a significant swing adjustment (from the rest of the clubs within the bag).

Anybody here agree, disagree ?

Sure, along with total weight and swing weight also. Face angle and head shape could even be thrown in. If you hand me a 12.5* driver with a 4* closed face and a 8.5* with an open face and say hit both dead sraight I couldn't swing both the same and expect the same results. Make one of those drivers 20 grams heavier and repeat, just another varible the body will try to adjust to. Thats why fittings are important, fit clubs to the person and swing not the other way around.

My point is that much of the swing is dictated by what equipment the player is using, especially the shaft stiffness. And for the driver, loft is relevant to how a player swings the club.
Mostly I observe too many hard paced , out of rhythm swings, and I think a major reason for that is that the players must work too hard to get playable shots out of too stiff a flex irons, and too low a loft driver.
Soften the flex of iron shafts and, or, add more loft to the driver, the swing rhythm and tempo tends to improve.
During "fittings" I expect many players are swinging out of their shoes, and consequently ending up with clubs that may hinder their capacity to make good, effective, repeatable swings.

[/quote]I agree with you..so why do think we have knowledgeable people on here asking WHY they should or shouldn't buy XYZ without A. being fit or B. having been able to demo a club without dumping money on things that don't work for them?

EVERY aspect of your equipment has a definitive impact on your swing.

Volumes are written about a golfer's swing mechanics and how important the swing is related to our golf performance, which is certainly true. but EQUALLY true is that many "swing errors" are actually equipment induced "swing obstacles". Once the correct equipment is selected, these swing errors vanish.
