Kikkor Golf Shoes

I can pick up a pair of these quite cheaply over here at present.

 

What are the general thoughts on them? They're not a brand I'm familial with over here but they seem well made and light enough.

 

I need a really soft shoe these days due to foot problems. Are these waterproof enough and also how well do they wear? Any information appreciated. I have some Fj Contour Casuals which have not been great, worn the sole away within 8 months. The Fj's though have been amazingly comfortable.

Which model are you looking at?

I still own two pair of Kikkor...the orginal Eppik's, which were anything but a traditional golf shoe, skateboard inspired w/ the fat tongue. These were super comfy on the feet and on the course. I had to size up. These were removable spikes; Also have a pair of the dress sneakers and they are really nice and comfy, as well. I like the spikeless design on these and I went w/ my normal size and they fit well.

I had a pair of the Tour Class and sized up and they were too big, so I sold those. The soles and overall style were much different then the original Epikk's; much more sleek, not as bulky and the spikeless design was different from any of their others; I wore on course once and they were very grippy.

Also had a pair of the Retro, and went w/ normal size and they were hair too tight and I was not crazy about the styling, so I sold those.

Kikkor Player and Kikkor Tour Pro.

Both have moulded spikes.

I bought a pair of Slyders this winter but I haven't had the chance to wear them on the course yet. I wore them at the simulator shortly after getting them and didn't find them very comfortable. I pulled the insoles and as you can see they are not all that impressive. I'm not sure if these are the same insoles they put in all their shoes but they are very thin and flat. I ended up replacing them with the insoles from an old pair of Sperrys. Now they are as comfortable if not more comfortable than my FJ Icons.

I'd probably be more worried about how durable/ waterproof they are than how soft they are. You can make them incredibly soft with the right insole.

I have a pair of the white Players that I wear quite a bit. Very comfortable with good traction. Never worn them in the rain or on a wet course so can't speak to that.

If you can pick them up on deal, I say go for it.
