Dukes, Pebble and NCGA Q's

Ok so I got some buds who want to play at Pebble...I've suggested the Dukes card as a way to save some dollars. As far as I can tell, if one of my bus's gets the Duke, all three other members in his party enjoy the same rates ....correct? He can reserve our tee times and everyone enjoys the same rate basically?

 

Pebble...it looks like 2 people max per room....as far as golf tee times goes?

 

NGCA anyone in Ca can join and get discounts that are offered (occasional Pebble and always Poppy?)

 

What's the best rate avail to join NGCA in any fashion as to enjoy the discounts?

Cheapest way would be through an associate club that only charges the basic NCGA fees (about $50-$55) and nothing else. Those are pretty few and far between these days. There is a list of associate clubs on the lookout for members on the NCGA website.

The associate club attached to Poppy Ridge is advertising at $65 for a years renewal. Think there may be an induction fee that may bring it up to $100.

Then there are the various e-clubs that you could join. They list at $75 but again not sure if that's a renewal rate and may be more expensive in the 1st year.

Always thought the Duke's club would be a no brainer if they bundled it up with an NCGA membership.

My group is making the splurge and playing Pebble later this fall. I had many of the same questions as the OP trying to save (more than) a few bucks. My research:

1. There is zero wiggle room on the max 2 players per room. MAYBE if you go at an off peak time, but we're going in October.
2. If you are planning to book your tee times well in advance, the Duke's card won't work. I called the Spyglass pro shop and asked them this question directly. They are wise to this. They won't give you the Duke's card discount unless you book the tee times within the 2 week timeframe. At least that's what the guy told me. I had planned to buy the Duke's card but won't now.
3. I am planning to join the NCGA to save $ at Poppy. I can join as an associate member since I'm a member of my local association.

Ok thanks boys.....I'd make the tee time and then call back later with the news that you'll be using the Dukes card. I'm assuming that they have a cancellation policy on the tee times so if they deny you, you can cancel and then shoot for the closer tee time.
