New Sticks for this season . . . LOTS OF FUN STUFF INSIDE(Pictures Added)

Hey there guys,

 

Just setting out to build my new sticks for this season. Really hoping the weather will turn quickly in the great white north! Anyways thought I would start a build thread to chronicle the my newest set of clubs. Stay tuned for pictures as product shows up.

Wishon 919 THI 7.5 degrees of loft 1 degree open

Wishon 929 HS 16 degrees of loft 1 degree open

Wishon 775 HS 20/24 degrees of loft square face angle

Wishon S2R #1 in White 70 degree lie angle 3 degrees of loft

Still at work but just got word that the UST V2's are at home waiting along with the PX 7.0's

Heads should arrive today and the rest of the shafts got here yesterday. Also ordered some Back Nine headcovers to go with

Now all we need is ferrules and we are in business.

Will try to post pictures asap but birthday celebrations this weekend may slow that down.

What's your swing tempo and speed like man? That's some heavy duty hardware.

If I were you I'd consider going 7.0 in the 51 to play consistent with the irons and then go a little softer in the 55 and 59

I swing driver 118 to 123 if I swing all out with the driver, as for irons I hit my 7 iron between somewhere around 180 if I'm swinging welll. I also hit the ball extremely high hoping to bring down the flight on everything a fair bit

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's been struck by the 'Wishon Fever'.

That's a beautiful set of heads. I look forward to the finished pictures and any performance review you provide. The S2R putter is of particular interest to me at the moment.

Ok, what Ive just noticed is, that you have a huge gap between ur Driver nad the 4 Wood. Ive gotta ask, because Im struggling with finding the right fit for that gap. Im currently using my 909D3 with the Proforce V2 96 Pro, just tipped about half an inch and playing at 47.5 ( Yes I know, but I hit it better than my 44" driver with a similur shaft). The driver is 8.5° and my 3 wood ( an old Mizuno T zoid) has 13 degrees, the next club is my 3 iron... (Im starting to be able to hit it well off the ground but mainly use it from the tee, and here is the kicker, I dont yet want to put in the steel shaft for the wood, I have some options, a 15.5 909 F3, A TM R7 with 15° and a 5 TM r7 with 18...)

This isn't my first rodeo with the S2R putter so if you have any questions feel free to fire away and I will do my best to answer them. I have had 4 of these putters 3 #1's two being built to standard lengths the other being a counterbalanced build with a superstroke and 1 #4 That started life as a belly putter then was cut down to standard length.

My gapping is pretty consistent being that I am a high swingspeed player. My current driver fw combo is the 919 at 8 degrees of loft 1 degree open and 929 4 wood at 16.5 degrees of loft square face angle, these are shafted with aldila nv 75 and 85 X stiff shafts both tipped an inch over standard. I believe some of the reason I do not feel the need for a lower lofted wood is because of the maxed out COR on the 929.

My current gapping is:

Driver 290-310
4 wood anywhere from 240-270 if I step on it all out
3 iron 220-230

etc.

I am hoping with the new set up to have:

Driver 290-310 (moving to 44.5" from 45.25")
4 wood 250-280 (moving to 42.5" from 42")
3 Hybrid 225-240 with more forgiveness than my old 555m 3 iron

etc.

I also just have so much more confidence hitting 4 wood over 3 wood and I have never liked to play a 5 wood as I am a very high ball hitter and generally saw alot of ballooning out of higher lofted woods (I carried up to a 7 wood at one point)

Sounds reasonable, and makes perfect sense. I think Ill try out the 909 15.5° 3 wood with the decent shaft first, X100 tipped a hole bunch to playing length.
I think thats a major problem for fast swingers, most clubs for the common folks are designed to help the ball launch in the air, low cog and so on.
I cant even try any clubs out at local stores or so on, Im just too scared to break them with their senior shaft and so.
Anyways, thanks for sharing, really appreciate ur insight.

Ferrules arrived this morning and I have settled on Back 9 head covers which should be here Monday. Hoping to get everything built while watching the final round of the masters and to maybe get out for a round on Tuesday to test them.

Did you change from 8* to 7.5* in the 919?

I have a 919 on the way in 8.5* loft. I am going to pair it with a AXE 7+ TS.

While I am not quite a 118ss guy, I am at about 113 or so.

How is the launch and spin with the 919?

I also have a 575 7i and a 771 7i on the way to demo.

Looking forward to going to mostly Wishon clubs.

I did change from the 8 to 7.5 but that is because I want a little lower launch for the driver most times I hit 4 wood off the tee as I can get it out 250 so driver is more for when I really wanna rip. I am also a high ball hitter

Everything is ready to go unfortunately working two seasonal jobs has overlapped so I haven't had any time
