Yes the current design if the Proto's and RAZR MB's are amazing. But rebadging them would give a lot of fuel to the golfing world to call them out on it.

Why not just rebadge them as the tour players all say they are perfect. They are a super forgiving mb iron. The only change I'd like to see is having the lofts match the apex pros to make a nice combo set.

I'm very curious as to how these will come out. I know the satin finish will probably be put on them (which i am not a fan of), but I am excited to see what will replace my Mizzy 69's next year.

They could make the lofts stronger, but keep the bounce angles normal, cause if you bend the razr mbs strong you make the leading edge closer to the ground, Reducing the bounce

I'm sure the grooves would be optimized to work with the KBS shafts like the Apex and Apex Pro as well.

Plenty of players tinker throughout the season. New irons is a pretty big switch, but I imagine plenty have done this.

With the wraparound season, there isn't really a good time to do it, just 'less bad', and even that may depend on a player's circumstances.

"innovate" and "muscleback" don't really work well together. For example, if you want to make it more forgiving, you introduce a cavity to the club (perimeter weighting).

Throw some wide grooves on the X Forged irons and call it a day. That club design is money! Only select tour players, and WRXer's who think they have game, will play the MB's.

Exactly. I have a set of the X protos as well as the 13 X forged and the only gripe I would have with the 13's is the grooves. They spin plenty but man are they impossible to keep clean. I play both sets with the Recoil Prototypes and love em both for different reasons. I doubt the new MB's will be much different from my 5yr old protos.

There's not going to be a major change in musclebacks. But not changing anything except the badging on them just wouldn't go over well in my opinion. They already did it once. They could change the grooves and the sole and that would be fine.

Agree 100%. No company should be trying to sell a crapload of MBs because the market isn't there for them. It's a small percentage of the golfing population. Re-badge what they already have with the Apex name (to get the name out there to draw people to the lines the probably should be playing anyway) and maybe make a few minor tweaks like the satin chrome finish as mentioned before, and call it a day. When the best players in the world are saying "Don't change anything" they should listen.

Oh, so a few guys on an internet website 'call them out' on a re-badge? BFD. Meanwhile, their touring staff go to them in droves all while getting the Apex name out there all over TV.

I like it. For me, a slightly larger topline isn't as big of a deal to me. I do like how it seems to be shorter heel to toe.

I always find it funny on here when people complain about topline thickness, especially in blades.

The clubs were designed with input from their staff pros, but I guess we "internet golfers" know better.
