The Most Interesting Golfer in the World has once again tied the knot.

 

Miguel Angel Jimenez exchanged vows on Saturday with Susanne Styblo in Torremolinos, Spain. According to a PGATour.com report, they had met in Styblo’s hometown of Vienna, Austria, where Jimenez now resides.

 

Now married, Jimenez, 50, had planned to take a month off from competition following the Champions Tour’s April 18-20 Greater Gwinnett Championship, which he won. Click here for the wedding photo gallery.

In the thread called "Holy Grail of Golf", somebody answered that his Holy Grail would be a hot woman who liked to play golf.
Well, the new Mrs Jimenez (she actually took his name) won at least one of the ladies' club championships at her home club (stroke play, match play, mid-am) in each of the last four years. Twice she won all three. "Mid-Am" should also tell ypou that, despite her looks, this is not a case of Jimenez trying to stay young by marrying a woman who is a lot younger than he is.
But her hcp is still at -9.3. I don't suspect sandbagging though, because it is a small club.
However, if you are the most interesting man in golf, you will also find the Holy Grail.

Joins Mediate at 11 under to share lead heading into championship Sunday

 

 

KAUPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii (AP) -- Miguel Angel Jimenez shot an 8-under 64 in windy conditions Saturday for a share of the lead with Rocco Mediate in the Champions Tour's season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai.

 

Jimenez had nine birdies and a closing bogey to match Mediate at 11-under 133 at Hualalai Golf Club. Mediate, the first-round leader after a 66, had a bogey-free 67.

 

Jimenez is making his third Champions Tour start. The Spaniard won the Greater Gwinnett Championship last year, a week after finishing fourth in the Masters. In May, he won the Spanish Open at 50 years, 133 days to break his own record as the oldest European Tour champion.

 

The 40-player field features major champions from the last five years, other tournament winners in the last two seasons and sponsor invitees.

KAUPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii (AP) -- Miguel Angel Jimenez rallied to win the Champions Tour's season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, birdieing six of the final nine holes Sunday for a one-stroke victory over Mark O'Meara.

 

The Spaniard closed with a 6-under 66 for his second victory in three career starts on the 50-and-over tour. He won the Greater Gwinnett Championship last year, a week after finishing fourth in the Masters. In May, he won the Spanish Open at 50 years, 133 days to break his own record as the oldest European Tour champion.

 

Jimenez finished at 17-under 199 at Hualalai Golf Club. After making two birdies and a double bogey on the front nine, he birdied Nos. 10, 11, 13-15 and 17 and closed with a two-putt par on 18.

 

In his other Champions Tour start, Jimenez tied for eighth in The Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex in July.

 

O'Meara shot 64.

 

Fred Couples was third at 14 under, following his second-round 64 with a 66. Rocco Mediate, tied with Jimenez for the second-round lead, had a 70 to finish fourth at 13 under.
