What putter did you just buy ?

Putter battle this year- Taylormade GT Spider Max, Odyssey AI One 7s, Odyssey AI One Double Wide double bend, Jailbird Mini AI One. 
 

Looks like the Jailbird Mini will come out on top, I’ll keep the Double Wide in reserve. 
 

Love the putter at address, love the 3 dot alignment. Feels quite nice to me and my front to back dispersion has been better than I hoped. The AI tech seems to deliver for me.

Nah, it was just a guess.  It seems they are somewhere between 305g and 325g (and different heads over the years are probably different weights). Mine maybe feels a tad lighter because it's been reshafted and I think epoxied so no ball bearing.

 

Interestingly, a comment at the end of the thread puts Anser 4 (SS) heads at 302g with the short hosel.  That's very light given it was sold throughout the 1990s.

I just picked up the Ai 2 ball and I’ve been using it on my putting mat.   I’ve never been so confident with a putter.  I can’t wait to try it out on the course.

Now that’s a blast from the past, almost 20 years ago.  The addiction to golf equipment was in its infancy for me then, and it’s just gotten worse over the years…

 

More times than I care to mention I’ll google some spec, or club building question and click on a link here and  find I’m reading my own post from ages ago.  Thanks younger me! 😂

Okay. I love the lighter feel of mine. All these massively overweighted putters that are produced these days make me scratch my head. I do not like the massively overwheighted 350G (or higher) putters.

About 4 years ago I switched to a BeCu Anser that is light compared to today's standards (504 g total weight at 34.75" with a PINGman blackout grip).  Best I've putted in my life.  It's been in the bag for 4 straight years.  Before that putter I was buying 5 or 6 per year, easy.

Scotty Cameron Phantom X5.5, 33", came with extra set of weights (35g each). Been a long standing Newport guy but figured it was time to give this a shot, so far in the basement it's been a pleasant surprise, can't wait to get it out on the course!

I think you can "feel" the putts better w a lighter putter. But that's kind of a feel thing I guess and subjective to each person.

Agree.  Where I've noticed the most improvement with the lighter putter is on long putts and just overall pace control.

When I did a Ping remote fitting they seemed to recommend a heavier putter for slower tempos and lighter putter for faster tempos. https://ping.com/en-us/fitting/our-process/putter-fitting

Super subjective as mentioned above..but I was previously leaving putts short and went with more shallow milling and heavier and my miss is no longer short. Agreed on having slightly more feel with a slightly lighter putter though

They'll even test within the range if you do an in person fitting, I was fit into the quick range and told 340-360g was my range, we tested 340g first cause that was the head and was solid, added 10g of lead tape and that ended up being the sweet spot. For fun we tested a heavy head and definitely saw lag issues. 

 

Ping has for sure done their research on this but people can be skewed outside this and other parameters.

I ordered it with the black shaft then drop shipped it to BGT where they installed the Cobalt Stability Tour shaft.

This just  showed up from FedEx, got it from the outlet store.   Mezz Max 16, 39 inch  counter balanced, 72* lie angle SS grip.  I'm going to try to get out to the putting green today.

Just got the Odyssey AI-one Cruiser Jailbird. Rolled it around on the mat at the house. I’m coming from a Taylormade Spider. So far fantastic, path is way better and more stable. Looking forward to getting it on the course.
