What putter did you just buy ?

I picked up a KM-006 and slapped an MMT putter shaft into it. A match made in heaven.

Not exactly a new putter, but definitely like new now. Just changed the paint on my Toulon Chicago, put in a new shaft (KBS CT Tour double bend) and a new Lamkin deep etch cord.

 

One thing I’ll say is that I really like the new KBS shaft as opposed to the old Stroke Lab one. For starters I just like the clean black look, but it’s also got a slightly tighter double bend at the neck and overall brings the putter to pretty much fully face balanced. The CT Tour, I believe, is a little heavier than the Stroke Lab as well so I did not place the counterweight in when I gripped it. Another difference maker was that my old shaft played at 34” and the new one plays closer to 35.5”, which I’ve much preferred.

 

Old grip was a Pro Only green star and between that and the Lamkin deep etch I don’t notice a huge difference in size or shape… but I prefer the slight softness the deep etch offers.

 

This was my first time painting and re shafting a club and I had a blast with it.

Picked up a 2019 QB6 to replace my 2021 QB6 because I wanted one in carbon steel. Had a local chrome shop strip it bare for $30 and then used Birchwood Casey gun blue with black pain fill:

I have only had it for 10 days, but so far it's very durable. 😉

I think part of my problem bouncing between putters is the very, very different conditions in summer vs the rest of the year here in Florida. 

 

Summer - super slow

 

In the summer I always struggle getting the ball to the hole and I venture into forward CoG putters. Then most of the rest of the year I wish I had a higher moi putter.

The real question is if it is cheaper to move to a different state for putting woes, or to keep buying new putters?

 

A few people make millions using the same putter with different green speeds...not really the arrow.

Lol...you serious Clark? 

 

Those guys who make millions with the same putter also putt on greens running 11-13 every week.

 

Your comparison is rather laughable. I'd use the same putter every round if I had the controlled environment that your players have...sheesh

 

Do a bit of research on CoG, launch angle, and skid distance. Then evaluate that against bermuda greens running 6 or 7 where the ball sits down.

My new baby. Bought it as a bit of a novelty/collectors item, but then I started hitting putts with it. I have a Perfect Practice mat where I hit 6 footers throughout the day. Usually struggle to get to 10 makes in a row with my other putters. Have been on runs of 28 and 47 in a row with this thing. Have made some slidey mid-range putts with it on the course as well.

 

It's the furthest thing from what I ever thought I could find success with but there's something special about this thing in my hands.

I found a Studio Stainless Newport 1.5 Beached on FB recently at a really good price.  The top line was dinged up a little so I cleaned it up a bit and had a golf repair shop laser in a sightline on the top line.  
 

I don’t know what it is about this putter (I’ve not had it adjusted or even checked for specs) but it rolls perfectly for me.   And the sight line on the topline really works for me.   This week I’ve putted my best all year n regards to both speed control and line.

Odyssey Tri-Hot 7 CH 34 inch. 1 degree strong. Went into a fitting with this putter in mind, but Crank Hosel is new to me. I've used face balanced for the longest time. With it being a bigger head do the standard Odyssey mallet cover fit, or do I need to get the square spider style covers? As the standard cover is awful.

The regular mallet cover will fit!

Sub70 005 Wide Blade, with new composite shaft and Garsen Max grip.

 

 

Played the 005 face balanced last summer and really enjoyed it. Saw the new shaft offering and wanted to try the model with toe hang. Moved to lead hand low a while ago so the Garsen grip feels great. New shaft also feels good, better than the standard PVD, a bit more stable with the heavier head. Switched the weights to 2 x 10 and it's coming in at 535 grams. Plan to do some paint fill and black it out for fun.
