After trying out some new mallets from cobra and scotty, back to the trusty TM spider x DB.  The cobra was super close to winning out - they have been teasing tour prototypes for a month or so but not on the horizon that I know of.  And was not super pleased with the qc/finishing on the scotty.

 

May have to pivot if the spider 5k ZT that is being teased comes out - looks awesome

British SS is funnier than German stainless, but it breaks down more.  Also not engineered as well as German stainless.  Sometimes it's late but always comes with tea and crumpets.  I'm trying...

I walked into the new PGA store in Estero, Florida with the intention of buying a new Ping putter...my current one is from the 1970's or so and has probably 10 layers of lead tape on it...I figure a new one would be good...The first one I picked up was a 33 inch anser...I made three 12 footers right off the bat and nothing else came close...$199 and I bought a dozen Callaway erc balls for $39...next week I will go back and demo the Qi 35 core and max driver...I need to look at that...I have a Callaway Smoke max right now but want a backup...That store was like I dyed and went to heaven...amazing

isn't that too-similar to @Toulon deep diamond milling = patented? or can anyone use the same / similar pattern milling?

My guess is Toulon never patented it since it's a pretty generic pattern.

I finished putting this together on the cheap , got the head under $20 on ebay. I put good with my Bullseye, want to try something else more center shafted. I also counter weighted it, I think that will help a less jagged take away.  2010 Wilson Staff model

So I just went back looking for my last post about re shafting the jr craz-e and noticed I mentioned I had something cool coming.. pretty sure I posted this in every thread BUT this one but anyway here it is.

 

Also grabbed another ping o blade, kinda cool that ping and o blade are flipped on the pat pending model.

 

AND have another jr craz-e head on the way I’m gonna shaft to 34.5 ish and.. found a couple of the midsize blackout grips they’re putting on the pld’s for sale, so when those come in I’ll toss one on that.

Ordered indirect from Taylormade. All Black badging and path outside of the T alignment

Got it. I ordered an all blacked out version and there’s a little chip on one of the edges. Was curious if you had a link that it matched or if there’s options out there.

Ah got it, this was a MySpider so full custom build. I’d assume some refinishers could help out with your chip

Bought these three in the last two weeks and had a little putter show down on the practice green today. 25 Toulon Atlanta H1, Studio Style Catalina and milled Spider Proto. They all felt great, I think the Toulon felt the best. Scotty felt the softest and Spider was the firmest. 

 

I felt most confident and hit the most putts with the Catalina, but part of me thinks it was because of the thicker grip. I also love how clean it sets up to the ball with the single bend. 

 

The Spider with true path is the easiest putter for alignment by far. It’s half an inch shorter than the other two and I think if I extend it and throw on a thicker grip it could potentially beat out the other two. 

 

Overall, it was fun switching back and forth and my head will be spinning before every round I play. 

 

P.S. I have a counterbalanced OZi on the way. Lord help me.

I putt consistently well with my Spider, I just don’t really like it. Hopefully this gets it out of my bag. 
 

If it doesn’t win as-is, it’s going to Embrace for a plumbers neck.

Been on the L.A.B train for about 4/5 years... 

But when I saw this with no cavity it was a must. I always played #9 or Flow necks before. It just feels natural..

I actually think it feels solid. Playing with the Chrome tour. I really like the feeling and sound.
