KBS Stiff Vs. X Stiff

I have a chance to purchase a set of ping i25 irons at a good price, and ping tells me they are extra stiff, seller tells me he reshafted and they are stiff. how can you visually tell the difference. the shaft labels have been removed.thanks

even if labels were on the shafts, they could be wrong, only way is to pull a grip and look for the etching. on a side note, i won a set of kbs custom shafts a while back and i was told by a kbs rep that aside from the weight difference there really wasnt a huge difference between s and x

I believe they look the same visually... except the shaftbands that have been removed... Why/how is ping telling you they are extra stiff? To me it sounds like they were originally extra stiff, and the guy you were buying them from put in stiffs and wants to sell them to you? If thats the case I would say they're probably stiff... but I feel like that would be self-explanatory and I'm missing something?

i called ping with the seriel number and they said they were made with extra stiff shafts, seller said he reshafted at ping with stiff, ping said they did not reshaft. labels have been removed and i dont want extra stiff shafts. thanks your replies and help.

Another option may be if you or the seller has another set you can compare them to and flex to see if you feel any difference? Like prestiege said there shouldn't be that much difference. I play c taper's in x which is supposedly a ridiculously stiff shaft... all kbs shafts, especially tours (I used to have stiffs) are very smooth. I actually have a set of 4-pw kbs tour stiffs so if you end up buying and finding out they are extra stiff I may be interested in a trade!
