My wife is set to deliver a second Peanut.

 

I am blessed to have her in my life. She is caring, compassionate, hard working, supportive, beautiful . . . (you get the point)

 

Thankfully, she understands how passionate I am about the game of golf and affords me the opportunity to pursue my interests. She has joined me for date night's on the course, even though she has no interest in playing golf, and is excited that I'm introducing my four year old son to the game.

 

I'm always sad when I read stories of golfers who are denied the opportunity to play because their partner does not share their passion.

 

Obviously there is a delicate balancing act when it comes to love, family and golf. I am my wife's for the remainder of the day. She has me slated for yard work and I couldn't be happier to spend time outside with my family.

 

I wish all of the Mother's a fabulous day.

 

Please feel free to share your stories. How have the lady/ladies in your life supported you as you pursue your passion for golf?

Yep, I was damn lucky landin in the crib that I did!

Through thick and thin, and I'll leave it at my Father and I butted heads a lot in days gone by, however You never left my corner, ever.

Through the past two years, well, youve been incredible, and though I try to keep a cap on it in my daily life, with Family, Friends and hell, right here on the boards, You've pulled me back from the edge more than I care to remember.

When I felt like packin it in, amd was just goin through the motions, You wouldn't even listen. All four foot nothin of you, and You got my attention when others couldn't.

Yep, I definitely thank God every night that I landed in your crib

Funny thing though a few weeks ago I was in my Father's office when I was finished with IVs and I was on the board and my Mom walks in and says, "that RXO is a nice forum," LMAO, quote-unquote, lol. I was like "huh," between the meds, lost brain cells and well, "RXO," I was clueless. Then it hit me.

She commented on my initial thread here, and as she knows the back story to it, she made a few comments about some club members that I left unamed and as she turned to leave, she said, "I'm glad that you cleaned up your language," lol.

I told her that I didn't really have a choice, LMAO

One more warning and I'm gettin a spring break

Thanks DP. I wouldn't be where I am without my Mother and Wife. It's as simple as that.

My Mother doesn't understand golf, but she will sit quietly and watch a tournament with me. That's true love.

My wife and I have played golf together since we've been married, so for almost 27 years. Less so now. We play on Friday nights, I play a lot of other times during the week, and she gets how much I enjoy it. We played with our daughters a lot when they were young, she helped with junior golf in the summers. She plays in a ladies league once a week and usually is playing tennis with our youngest daughter when I'm golfing with the guys, or my oldest daughter. My tennis is sadly limited by some nagging issues with running on asphalt.

We've been lucky to have shared interests. I'm sure I've got the better end of the bargain, and everyone thinks our girls look like her, so I guess they are lucky as well.

Took my wife to a Rob Thomas acoustic concert this evening for Mother's day. He sang 3 am as a tribute to his dearly debarted mother. It was an emotional experience to listen to the song and rub my wife's belly as the baby kicked. Just came home and her water just broke. Heading to the hospital in 10 minutes to visit O.B. Triage. Ladies and gents it may be time for the big dance.

Hoping to have another golf partner in the near future.

Amen to this topic. We had a great day today. Along with spending the day on the links (per HER request) after "brunch" (again per her request bc I don't do brunch...) Don't know what I'd do without her, moved literally across the country to be with her and haven't second guessed it one time. She's not a mother yet but happy "ladies day" sweetheart!

I'm going to use a golf metaphor:

We're currently 'warming up' and getting ready to hit our 'first drive'. The PeanutsMommy has all of the necessary equipment to play her best. She definitely has 'first tee jitters.'

The nurses are saints (and the fact that it was just Mother's Day seems to have everyone in a dapper mood).

Kadin, get the Wishon's ready. The baby's measured big the entire pregnancy so we may have to build the putter an inch over standard : )

I'll check in as often as possible. I don't have any supply work ready so I'm prepping for school tomorrow.

My former BB partner(and later GF, but I was a much better as the former than the latter ) and I had the same teacher and she was a 1st asst at another club in town. After a lesson at our teacher's course, we decided to play nine so we went to the first tee and threw our name in and the starter said that he had another twosome and we introduced ourselves. As Madison turned towards me, we both heard the older of the two(I'd say early-mid 40's) say to his buddy, "Oh god, now we got stuck with a female "Poser," LMAO, because Madison's 5'10" tall, a sharp dresser and very attractive, and a Nike Staffer, though she intentially carries a non-descript Nike stand bag, not a Staff bag.

I was going to try to get a money game going and she just smiled and said, "oh, grow up, it's just boys being boys."

They did give her honors and she striped one down the middle 240ish, LMAO

I didn't even watch her ball cuz I wanted to see their reactions.

The younger one looked to his buddy and said, "I've never seen you pose like that," LMAO.

I cracked up and couldn't help myself and walked over for a fist bump because his timing and facial expression was priceless.

Madison, not knowing the back drop, just smiled and said, "grow up."

She said that a lot over nine years

My intent was not to start a birthing thread. I originally wanted to focus on Mothers and golf. Things started according to plan, but just like many of my rounds, something went sideways along the way. The Doctor's returning at 9:15 to take us into the 'club house'. I'm sitting patiently on the '18th tee box' as another 'two-some' attempts to complete their journey. If I were a betting man I'd say that my wife is going to thread her drive down the center of the fairway and stick her approach on the green. I'm hoping she gives birth to an 'eagle' (who doesn't leave the nest too soon) : )

Well, I'm in IVs, and there is a nurse who makes the soup nazi look like a pacifist regarding the recently implemented "no phone" rule(02/01/14) in IVs. So, my tendency to turn everything into an intellectual brawl, combined with my phobia of authority, well, we don't see eye to eye, regardless of what my vision is

So she sees my phone out, as I'm checkin in to see if the "Eagle has landed," and I immediately say, "My Bro's wife is expecting any time." Without even hesitating, she asks, "So how many brothers does an over 50 man have who's wives are still having babies?" I normally am decent on my feet, though her quick response threw me, and my first thought was, "wow, when did I last use that," cuz I refuse to use someone's death as an excuse My intellectual demise is closing quickly on my physical-
