They don't feel much softer than the other stuff I build up, but I'm mostly building up forged Japanese stuff, so a lot of 1025 material.  

 

I find it common to see sets with one or two big scrapes on a head, but otherwise they look great.  I get the feeling clubs in Japan don't see a ton of rounds, so the faces are almost very clean with sharp grooves.  But a fair bit of bag chatter and sole scrapes.  I play everything I build on a mediocre small muni style course with iffy tee boxes and fairways.  So I'm not put off by a few scrapes, especially if it means I can get a set of heads for $100.  I'm also a bit of a sweeper, so I don't tend to add much wear to the clubs I build.

Did a bit of a special to celebrate Rory's Masters win with a spec that fits my stroke, this could be me finest work to date. 😎

 

Had a BGT Stability Tour² Polar shaft that I just didn't like the too bright white, it distracts my aiming, so I decided to hand sand it down to raw carbon fiber, I covered to logo on the back to maintain the shafts identity as it also goes well with the black& white theme of the putter.

 

Had an eye out for the previous version of the X1 L-Neck Spider X, the gunmetal grey one, but just didn't get one last season and now that a black version came out and I went to roll it it looked even better to my eye in black! I just roll the ball so well with this model, it's a combination of the L-Neck and the insert with the grooves.

 

The new pvd black makes the head look just that little smaller by the ball and it also pop's true path even better.

 

Finishing touch I slapped Rory's gamer SS Pistol Tour in it and this thing came out so sexy, can't wait to play this tomorrow 👌🏼

Been loving the G440 LST driver I recently picked up, so I decided to pick up a 3 wood as well to test. Surprised how deep of a face it has compared to my old 915fd. One shaft coming tomorrow to try but very curious to see where this goes....

Did you buy this with actual money? Because looking at the pricing its kinda like Ping is trolling us, with a stock shaft it's 673 euros in the Nordics and that equates to $760.

I bought the G440 LST 5w with the Chrome Black shaft here in Japan for about 450 euros. This was significantly lower than the price shown on Ping's website.

Hahah yess, picked up the head on ebay for $330 plus a stock shaft it wasn't near as bad as retail. There was even one with stock shaft last month that went for sub $300. They come up just be patient, I can't wait to hit it!

Also recently acquired some cheap shaft pulls for a set of blades I’m building so that can keep me busy for a few days.

So when I ordered the above GG was only offering sets starting at 4i, so when I got home I went on to second swing and ordered 2i+3i in the same build. Played the full set yesterday, no driver, no woods.. the 2+3 were definitely unnecessary lol. Fun, but I’m pretty sure they’ll mostly stay at home. No regrets though, I have 8ish sets of irons at this point and this is the first time I ever bought one new so it’s still nice to have the full 2-gw even if the 2/3 won’t get much use. AND with how well I was hitting the 4i, had I not already had the 2/3 I would 100% have gotten home and ordered them anyway so all is good haha.

I loved the Z5 Tour Taper and found someone selling them on eBay.   The Lamkin reduced taper trips are so much better than Golfpride but since they’ve been bought out…
 

He had 23 so I’ll have to be selective on when I regrip 😂😂

Just wait a year. Everyone’s trying to unload their 430 LSTs from last year. Those were almost as expensive.

Decided that my G430 Max has had enough opportunities to behave. My bag is now somewhat unintentionally fully Titleist.

 

The shaft (Tensei Blue 1K non-pro) might get changed but I have Tensei blues in my 3W and 4H and have started to like it. Feels easy to work and I’m hitting the ball dead straight often enough with them at a height I like.

With a little bit of finagling, my local club maker was able to snag one of these Ping/SuperStroke collaboration grips for me.  Apparently they’re only available on the new Scottsdale putters.

Tsr1 20° head showed up today. Have played a ts2 21° and had pretty good results, needed a bit more height. 

 

Tried a 21° og apex uw, never could get along with it. Slice machine. 

 

Hope this head works well. Sits so good behind the ball, definitely confidence inspiring. Paired with my motore speeder 8.8 hb.
