I just couldn't resist and impulsively picked up a Rapture 3 wood head from fellow WRXer, eddiebigeddie, off the BST. I'm pretty sure I just built the longest 3 wood on the planet-- 2014 Rapture + Fuji Rombax P95X. I had no idea how big the Rapture is, the head looks absolutely silly next to my TEE CB4.

I sold my full set of Mizzy H4's, and grabbed a a few partial sets to toy with.

 

7-P MP 15

8-P TM MB Forged

5-P XTD forged

 

All with Ctapers. I actually found 6/7 iron heads on the TM MC forged to go with the 8-9-P in the MB's, and have 2 Ctapers sitting in the corner for em.

 

I'm a ho, but the cool part is I worked some deals and only spent $160 more on all of these than I sold the H4's for.

Glen Goyne 17 years - no peat - verrry smooth. Toured the place on my daughter's Scotland dance trip in 2004 - Royalty serves it! Not sure how it affects golf purchases!

Diamana X is a 2.2 torque shaft in 70X, It's one of 5000 made. It's basically a super stout Blue Board. Compared to the W and B series it has a much stiffer feel and much lower spin. I'm getting close to 1800 spin with good launch 11-12 degrees. I like how stable the club feels through impact but you have to load the shaft hard to get it to flex otherwise it feels like a pipe. It's made of high modulus material which leads to Diamana's lowest torque shaft they've produced. I wasn't a fan of the W & B series because of the softer mid and butt section. It would kick early leading to low pull hooks for me, but I could get some good performance when I moderated my tempo and transition. If you were to go from hitting a W series well into a Diamana X most would see a knuckle ball push fade and hate the feel. I also have a Rogue 125 MSI 70TX for this club and I'm see a little higher launch (12-13) with the Rogue with good spin so when I want a little more carry the Rogue is in play.

This the only driver on my radar now. Well....kinda.... I was playing the SLDR 460 9.*, but switched to 430, 9* set on the lowest setting (I've got a very high positive AOA, plus hits the ground running) have you hit either SLDR, and if you have what setting? I'm just curious how the D4 compare to them?
