Can you guys help me find this ball?

Alright so workpack has recently brought to my attention the fact that the ball really is the one piece of equipment that you use every shot, so i am going to actually start playing a specific ball instead of just whatever i can find. A buddy of mine lives across from a course, so i get pretty much all the free balls i want. I am looking for a ball that is basically this.

 

Soft but durable cover. I want a 3 piece ball or more. Something that will help bring my ball flight up, and maybe kill a little spin on my drives (side spin especially/ not worried about back spin). I dont really worry about my driver spin being killed because i mostly want something that loves to stop around the greens. I have a really nice short game, and i love to use it well. I also want a ball that is economical. Something that wont cost 40 bucks per dozen. I really like the bridgestone e5/e6 and z star. i am not sure what all i am looking for here. Balls are not something ive ever really looked into.

I would say grab a sleeve of as many as possible balls from the list above to find which suits you the best

According to your preferences the Z Star should work well for you. A few other suggestions: B330 RXS, Callaway Chrome and Chrome+.

TM Project (a), E5, NXT Tour S. I have tried lots of balls. Price always played a roll in choice. Found a ProV, played it, and nothing beats the feel and performance for me. So I decided to play that ball from now on. I always buy them in the spring when they have the promo, buy 3 get one free. You get what you pay for, even when it comes to golf balls, IMO.

I would check out the Top Flite Gamer Soft. It's 3 piece, soft and durable, will definitely help with a high straight flight. Totally economical. They are buy 1 get 1 50% at Dicks. I've been playing the Gamer Soft for about a month now and I don't plan on playing another ball this year.

I got a sleeve of Sr2 and chrome+ and e5 all from golf galaxy few weeks ago. I loved the SR2, but it is a little over budget. the e5 worked really well. i found the e5 for 5.99 per dozen in great condition online. I ordered 10 dozen

Pro V 1 X , NXT Tour, Bridgestone B330 RX . Bridgestone E5, I also like the Titleist Velocity ball, I know not as great a ball but the distance is fantastic and do stay pretty straight.

I've used a bunch since I've been playing, but my favorite so far has been the Cally Chrome+. I haven't found anything I liked that would grab the greens like this ball, but still play nice with my poor drives.

I've tried the E6, the Cally Supersoft, and the [color=#282828]Titleist Velocity and I'd choose the Chrome over them every time. The Velocity plays very straight for me, but around the greens I just can't get the same grip as the Chrome+. Cally Supersoft is a bit hit and miss for me. Last weekend I was playing great with it when I grabbed one out of the bag, but more often than not I just can't get it to do what I want. The E6 is a middle of the road ball to me. I hit it well, use it well around the greens....it's just average for me. I'd prefer the Chrome first, with the E6 just behind. Chrome+ is a bit out of my price range though, so I'll probably check out lostgolfballs before I buy a new dozen..[/color]

I definitely agree. I don't think you can go wrong with the Hex Chrome or Hex Chrome+, depending what your swing speed is. It's around $30/dozen these days.

In that price range, the new NXT Tours are a quality ball as well. There was a comparison on golfwrx a few weeks back of the new Titleist balls, and the NXT Tour S was pretty competitive with the ProV1x in most categories.

for 20 buck you cant beat the supersoft, i know its only 2 piece but give them a try , you will be suprised, i know i was!

If your buddy can give you all the free balls you want, go for Pro V's or Z-Stars. Why worry about price?
