WITB UK Lefty Edition! Handmade putters

Total change to the bag 16/02/2015

 

So I have a total re work of the bag, for no real reason at all!

 

Up top, the TEE has now moved out and replaced by a Titleist 915F with a Diamana s70 x5ct, however that shaft might change.

 

Swapped the irons out as well, now going with a brand new set of Adams MB2, god these things are sexy, love the raw look as well!

 

Wedge wise, dropped to a two wedge system, they are some beautiful Edel's, bent to 52 and 58 degree

 

And finally a new putter from my friend, Lumpy. This is the KUtlas head shape, and it is really fitting my eye. This one is copper, 34.5 inches long, with a flow neck. Beautiful

 

So there we have it! My bag for 2015 is set, the only thing that might change is trying the G30 LS Tec, and maybe a different shaft in the three wood

Right SLDR is out, Ping G30 with tour 65 in, much better for my swing

 

SLDR rescues are out, in their place I have gone old school and put the 3 iron back in, and a 60* to help the short game

 

Wedges have changed for a little while so I can play with shafts. Managed to get some Cleveland 588 RTG and put some spinner shafts in, impressed so far!

Very nice collection. A fellow southpaw here. I'm interested in your comparison of your Byron putter and your Xenon's. Lumpy is close to me and am considering getting him to fashion me a putter. Before I heard of him I had my mind made up on a Byron. Thks

I have a 006 coming after Christmas which will give me a better comparison, but I have a few more Lumpy specials now, and each of them just work so well! I actually struggle to pick a putter take with me now! I don't have one that stands out to me anymore!

You really do need to check out Yururi! Great Japan brand, and I don't think I have found much softer! Just wish they were slightly more traditional head shapes!

I know a lot of people don't find the G30 that long, but right now I am hitting my biggest drives ever with it! It's 100% longer than the SLDR 430 I had
Just put a Veylix Rome 688 in it, and its just a beast! Strongly recommend checking those shafts out!

So as mentioned above, quite a few new additions to the bag!
Firstly, I have gone for a Veylix Rome 688 Wildeye shaft in the G30, not only does this thing look amazing, it performs AMAZING! It has taken the G30 to a new level for me, a lightweight shaft (67g or something like that) but it feels heavy! How they do it I have no idea, but considering my last shaft was around 72g, I thought I was really going to struggle, but nope!

Second up I managed to grab a great Taylormade UDI 18* with a KBS tour shaft in it, love this club! I hit long irons a lot better than hybrids, so this works perfectly for me. Not 100% sold on the shaft, hence my third new item

Third I got an amazing deal on an Adams 21* DHY with a Matrix HX3 shaft. What I will probably end up doing is taking the shaft out of this and putting it into the UDI

Fourthly, lots of putters (I'm a HO) First up I snapped up a Byron Morgan 006 on the lefty section on here, sent it to Byron and well I think he did an amazing job!

What do you want to do with your UDI? Go for 2 on Par 5's or as a stinger on the tee? If you want to make some yards from the tee, try to find a Speeder TS 9.8 HB maybe on the bay or so. This shaft in a driving iron is a monster, a beasty beast! I have it in my back up Mizuno MP FliHi. I would absolutely reccommend every one.

To be honest I use it everywhere. I hit it longer than any hybrid I have owner, and like you say I can hit a lot of low stingers which is handy for golf over here in the UK. I will check out that Speeder though, traditionally I have not liked the feel of the speeder shafts, they just don't feel right to me

Honestly its a great combo, I had the Ping tour 65 in before and that did OK, chucked this Rome in and all of a sudden I have a cannon on my hands! The SLDR is a great club, and I have no doubt that if I put the best swing I had on it, it would probably be longer, but to do that once every few rounds isn't worth it

So a few changes again, not playing much at the moment due to lots of rain, and not really had much time for range either due to preparing for new job. I have gone back to my LaJosi DD201 for a little while, I seem to putter better with this on slower greens.

 

Lots of swing changes for me, trying to get out of bad habits! Struggling for now but in the long run they should help I hope!

 

Probably going to shift on my staff bags as well, they don't get used so I will probably replace them with some Sun mountain 3.5's at some point.

 

Got this TomTom watch for Christmas as well, its the golf model, will let you know how it goes

That new shaft in your G30 looks fantastic! How did you performance improve compared to the Tour 65?

The shaft difference was huge, firstly it just feels so much more stable through the swing, secondly it feels actually heavier some how? Like it feels around the 70ish gram mark but it isn't?! And I have already had good success with heavier shafts, but my swing speed suffers normally, so this shaft helped with that. But the biggest thing was distance, I've gained more consistant distance gains, on really good swings it can be 20 yards, but on average swings its about 5. I currently am hitting it a bit lower (on purpose) and have dialed down the loft a bit because of our really wet conditions here at the moment, but first impressions is that this shaft will stay in the bag for a while.
